hey mighty ducks,

Coder/writer here. How are you guys?

I’m excited about this post — I’ve got some expected news and some unexpected news to share with you. We’ll get the early access version out in a day or two, once we’ve been able to successfully hunt down and crush the bugs and weird glitches that inevitably lurk in the marrow of first drafts of builds. That’s the expected news. As for the unexpected…

You’re probably wondering about the delay. Well, that was the cost of a weighty decision I made. Starting today, I’m leaving my other job. That’s right, I’m balls out, all in, caution to the wind, giving this everything I’ve got. I’m going to be working part time at first at the old place, but I’m hunkering down with the text and the code and I’m going to be investing my time right here, with you guys. The cost of quitting was an increased workload this past month that made for very little sleep, but other than a couple days delay, we were able to manage with no consequences!

I’m really excited about this. I’ve made a massive to-do list from which I’m already checking off items, and I believe the additional time I can allocate even just to editing will have a solid positive impact. I put it as the goal for $6000, but I figure what the hell, you guys are supporting us, we owe it to you to give everything we can, and though that’s what we do everyday, when an opportunity to give more arises, to grow, to better ourselves and our output, in the words of the great Ron Swanson: “Don’t half-ass two things — whole-ass one thing”. So that’s what I’m doing. Whole-assing it. I’ll be spending some of this time learning more advanced coding so we can continue to do cooler and cooler stuff. We’ve already put in some fun mechanics, and we’ve got some really fun, complicated ideas that we’re already working on implementing in the future.

The artist is doing his damnedest to overload me with art, and this update closes out the slave route. What you won’t see just yet is that we’ve already made some progress on the Zuko route. What you will see is a number of new scenes, primarily focusing on the consequences of your decisions throughout the game (though there are a couple surprises elsewhere).

As the artist mentioned in his last update, the Zuko route is going to look very different from the slave route. A love route with Azula - especially an incestuous one - is a tricky situation, but we’ve spent a lot of time thinking it out, and we’re excited for what’s coming. We think you’re gonna have a lot of fun with it too.

We’re proud of this route. Book 1 was a simple, fun little adventure, and has a favorite spot in our heart as the first thing we made. In Book 2, we decided to go a little deeper. Thrust a little harder. If you look at the sheer quantity of sex scenes in Book 2 as compared to Book 1, the output in scenes alone has been tremendous. But we also dug a little deeper into the world as a whole. You can expect to see some of that in the Zuko route, though it’s planned to be much closer to home — focusing a little more on relationships than the world at large.

A last piece of tentative news: we have some ideas cooking, which if ever see the light of day will be titillating, salacious, and some good fun. Can’t say more though!

Thanks for all your support. We’d do this anyway, but knowing you’ve got our backs makes all the difference. We’re working hard to make a game that’s drenched in naughty and fun times.

Thanks for everything, gang. Stick around, the build’s around the corner!

Cheers,
MITY

The thing that immediately comes to mind is that if you're balls out and yet all in, you're really saying that you're all-but-the-balls in.

Also, congratulations on joining the ranks of the self employed! You will spend all day dangerously near a fridge, and learn that quarterly income tax is the most evil thing ever invented.

Zuko incest love story? Oh my. This is exactly what I've always wanted, but didn't know I wanted it until now.

Godspeed, you crazy bastards!

Wow, I've only discovered your team and the game a couple of days ago. Best timing ever to come in! Good luck with this transition, such a thing is always hard, so hopefully your increased efforts will also show increased numbers of patreons. Can't wait for the update on Book 2!

Hope it all works out great for you! Can't wait for the early acces release

Kobold Lad

If only refreshing the page would make the early access release come faster.

Good luck man! Your honesty and dedication made it possible, since I think everyone here never regretted their patronage. Good job man, hope you enjoy self employed life!

The only dreams unrealized are the ones we never reached for. Not as much as I would like to donate but I support a lot of you on here. But I got your back a little here, go for it!

what is the console button combo again?\

please tell me how to open the developer mod

mity

Ah yes that has been changed with the newer versions of Renpy. To open the developer console, it's still shift O, but (if I remember this correctly)before that works you'll have to go to the "common" folder in Renpy, open the file 00console.rpy and change config.console from False to True. Be sure to back up the files you change in case things go wrong so you can restore the original file if necessary!
