- made something for katara which is not skimpy clothes!(it's a surprise!)

- outlining the next book (with Azula)

- made Azula's two standing idle's

- remade Azula

- remade Azula (yes, again!)

- made Azula's clothes for one idle

- added "a little something" for the nightly visit in book 1

- made a standing shadow.

- made closed eyes for katara

- researching other characters(how they are drawn) and fire nation buildings

I bet a lot of you are interested in how we are going to deal with Azula who'll be the star in the next book.  By the way, we call the different parts of our game books and Katara is the main character of book 1. Of course there's not much of a chance the player can increase his standing with Azula by slaying mooselions and we've been doing some serious talking about how to deal with that little fact as well as keeping things fresh and new. 

Well, all of that will have to remain a secret for now. However since the art is pretty much done for book 1 I've been starting to direct my attention towards the future. I'm sure some things will pop up for book 1 which will require my attention but until then Azula will keep me company!

-Main character-

Drawing the main characters for a book can be challenging. Since they'll be the center piece you can't get away with some half assed attempt. Not that I'd want to half-ass it regardless of whether it's a main character, but it's especially important when it's the character you'll be looking at most of the time.

That's the reason why I spend a lot of time getting those characters just right and keep working on them until I feel I can only make them different and not better. Katara has seen quite a few variations before I ended up with the version you see in the game. A lot of it was experimenting with thicker and thinner lines and whether to make the colors brighter or darker.

The perfectionist in me will never be completely satisfied, but be that as it may I'm very happy with the way Katara turned out and now that I've almost finished Azula I can say I'm every bit as happy with her. Perhaps even more so. 

I've already been doing some very rough sketches for the other girls in book 2 and I think most of you can already guess who they are :)
