I'll be shedding some light on our shopkeeper this time.

Looks aren't all

One big change was when I finished the first sketch for our shopkeeper. We decided she was nice looking, but not different enough from the other characters. She had a bit of a Katara vibe going. A different appearance, less "soft" was needed. After a suggestion from the coder she got the distinctive hairstyle she has now.

Just her hair wasn't enough so her outfit had to undergo some changes as well. We were almost there! Another round of redrawing and her clothes were the way we liked it. However a different "problem" presented itself.

shopkeeper alternatives

Her softness was gone for the most part, but originally she was supposed to be the teacher. Since we already had a shopkeeper (who turned out could be a really nice substitute for the original) we simply switched the two.... Maybe that's why the current teacher tells you she hates school too ;)!

Dirty secret
Our shopkeeper has a dirty little secret which she doesn't want the rest of the village to know about. If you've read Sokka's magazine you'll know what I'm talking about, spiderwoman!

Spiderpig

Some drawings are easy to draw whereas others have you do sketch upon sketch and version after another version...  and still not feel happy about the result. Spiderwoman was such a drawing.

I wanted a very well known superheroin with a mask so as to protect the shopkeeper's secret identity and I ended up with spiderwoman. I was considering Storm from the x-men for a moment, but her having no mask was a dealbreaker.

I made one with her in the full suit (minus sexy parts) and one with her just wearing the mask. I couldn't decide which one to use so I made the coder do it for me (thanks again man! I really couldn't pull the trigger myself.)
We were planning on having an extra quest involving the magazine and our shopkeeper, but as of yet haven't had the time to implement it. There's just always thousand and one things you still want to do with a game but feature creep and in this case quest creep has a tendency to slow you down to a crawl when you don't make the hard decisions.

Just like earlier you can find all of the files (high res and psd) in the attachment.

I'm going to try doing things a bit differently with these updates next time
and that's showing some things in these posts a bit less often and do a "filedump" once a month with the highres and psd files I've been talking about into one big rar.

It sorta makes life a lot easier for  me amongst other things and you'll still get all the goodies. I might even have the time to add some "commentary" on the pics themselves. On a seperate layer of course! But that's something for the future. Currently we're really hard at work getting the love route done and updates like these, as small as they might be, take more time than I initially thought.

I'm currently  struggling a bit with patreon's interface for making new posts so if something looks "funny"  or missing.  I'll try and fix it as soon as I can.

....Okay... the more I touch it the more it seems to fall apart?  I didn't put all those blank lines in there.. did I?Anyway, I'll leave it like this for now and see if I can do something about it later.

Don't worry about the layout of your post. I'm just happy to get some news from you. I wouldn't mind a few more "mission" with the shopkeeper.

As a visual person it really "stings" when I can't bend the pixels to my will :) but thanks for the reassurance. We'd really like to add some more missions too, but our first concern right now is making sure the love route gets the attention it needs.
