Early access 0.8.1f - bugfixes for book 3 (Patreon)

We made a very embarrassing mistake with the earlier 0.8 versions! 

We started getting feedback on bugs in book 3 which we could've sworn had already been fixed. Having "deja vu" just once can happen, but this was starting to show a trend!  

So we took another look under the hood yesterday and to our horror it showed we had been using an older bughunt version as the basis for the new 0.8 versions.


There's a lot you don't like to see during development, but this is certainly one which makes you facepalm and headdesk at once (repeatedly). 

So after discovering this I've been busy trying to correct it and think I've finally been able to get it all up to date again.

If you've only been interested in and playing book 4, you should see no  changes and there's no real need to hurry in getting this.  Sorry for the mess and thanks for the feedback!  New links below.

Huh... so I am liking the start to book 4 except... why did you make Korra act more entitled and disrespectful than she actually is? Like even in Book 1 she only got uppity about not being able to leave the island, and that’s understandable. She was raised in a fucking compound in the south pole. She did not have a messiah complex, and she didn’t expect hero worship. I hope this is just a gag rather than what you think her character really is, because it doesn’t feel like her.

At least you caught it and fixed it, unlike SOME companies, who leave those known bugs for years before fixing them..

Ah no worries, being slow off the mark (still in chapter 3) just hadn't had a chance to apply a few updates 1. perhaps trained by Microsoft to hold off patching 2. perhaps just plain lazy 3. perhaps just too busy watching anime Whatever the reason, win for me, sadly not so much of a win for those pulling out hair playing or developing games ;)

You know, having gotten a little further in Book 4, I think you really wouldn't have to change THAT much about how Korra is presented (in terms of her personality and dialog. The workout scene (HOT btw) actually gave me a sense that you, especially as the artist, seem to have a degree of the parts of Korra's character that are admirable and worth highlighting as cool traits. I'm seeing nuances and concessions that she is a good person and a cool character, if not frustrating at first. Maybe you don't blindly hate her after all? Idk, maybe I'm just reading into it. Either way, it seems like Korra probably did work out like all the time off screen. She is undeniably fit as fuck. And soon, TO fuck. ;)

hello, loving book 4 so far, with a great representation of korra. i'm not sure if i reached the end of the current update or not. to avoid spoilers her current resistance is 80 and morality is 97.

It's part of the deal! Up and downsides to everything and all that. Man.. .it's been ages since I've watched anime. I wouldn't even know anymore what's out there currently. Well except for one punch man but I already spoiled myself with reading the manga.

I can imagine. Now the only reason I own an android device is to test these builds and this is how I always go about it. After downloading, I go to my files &gt; device storage &gt; download and double click the file I downloaded. My phone asks for some permissions and then it starts installing. Takes a long-ass time on my device btw. I'll double check and completely remove it and try to install it again. Maybe I'll encounter what has been troubling you. -edit- tried it after deleting everything and it worked when i did it the way I described earlier so see if that changes anything for you. I hope and expect it will.

Yes, 80 is pretty much the extend of how low things can go. You might also check the spoiler log in the earlier update and see if there's something you missed.

Loving book 4 so far. Not gonna lie though, I much as I love the slave routes. I like the love routes more. Hoping the love route in this book involves the PC doing the route in korra's body. It would be a really fun and interesting change of pace. Not to mention the dialogue you would come up with would probably be the best ever.

Also a big fan of book 4 so far. As you mentioned already, there are SO many potential girls in the Legend of Korra. Hoping to see some of the 'later' girls (like grown-up Jinora or Opal) in the love route.

I enjoy this game, but i just have one small suggestion. Could you please put in a settings option to turn down volume? I enjoy watching youtube while playing games, so it would be nice if i could change the volume.

You can do this? If you're in the main menu, go to preferences. There you can adjust music and sound volumes.

Hi... I love your work. love the drawings and gamemechanics. But can you tweak the Arena fights a little. You can shorten the respondstime, but it would be nice if a tip on the element would be enough to block it. the current system is a little to complicated.

Is there a chance that we will see Korra's short hair look during the love route? I would love to see the option and it might be a good compromise to go with the look during one of the routes.

is there a way to use a previous game save with the new version? i ask because I got the obsidian bug - where you upgrade the hospital before the final tavern upgrade

It depends. Renpy (the engine in which FET is built) allows you to use your old save files on the same project and does no version control. However, if the old save still uses variables or generally pieces of code that are changed during later builds, it will simply crash. To my knowledge, the only real way to use your old safe files would be to use an older version that is compatible to that save.

Hey Mity. Im new to FET and am thoroughly enjoying it. In fact just started supporting today. However, I'm running into a bug trying to fight Iroh's crabs. In fact i cant fight any crabs. It keeps saying 'hit_chance' not defined. Curious if I'm the only one that has run into this issue? How can i fix this to continue on with the game? i have the most recent version downloaded. The crab battles have quite some bugs still but none game crashing/breaking as far as I'm aware. Did you use the rollback feature by any chance?

Thing is, rollback can cause serious fuck up's in any renpy game. Best to avoid it.
