I love the humanizing moment for his Egyptian mom, where Moses and Ramses were mistreating the girl that was brought to them, she turned away in shame. Also, I noticed on this watch that his hair/skin never really matches the Egyptians. they are the same shade, but Moses has a different undertone, the same as the Hebrews. His hair is dark brown as opposed to black. His beard and eyebrows never really match his wig. These subtle things I find really cool as a character designer myself. I love watching this with someone not familiar with the story, I grew up Christian and learned this story from a young age, it's crazy how an outside perspective can really make you appreciate the storytelling here! It really is a wild story haha. What gets me is putting myself as i am now into the story. I'm not religious anymore, if my husband came to me saying he saw god and he has to face this giant empire singlehandedly...I think i would think he'd gone crazy. I used to always say like "if Jesus came back of course I would follow him" but in reality...we'd all be the non-believers. Because why should we believe, ya know? Just another crazy guy claiming to be a prophet. I may not see the religious value in these stories anymore but I appreciate them as they are. Although this movie is lucky it cuts off where it does...things get incredibly brutal for "God's people" after they leave Egypt. Not that killing innocent egyptian children wasn't already brutal.

What Moses is carrying down the mountain in the last scene is the 10 Commandments. This movie has never not been one of my top 5. The music is incredible, the art absolutely beautiful, and the voice acting great. Idk if you noticed in your rewatch but the song Moses is humming after getting in trouble with Pharoh when hes sewing that bag is the song his mother sang foreshadowing that he on some level remembers it for his sister Miriam to bring it up again later and realize. Love your reaction to this movie, its so emotionally moving even if you're not religious. <3

Not kidding, man...I cried at the deaths of the firstborn. Loved the reaction!

When I was a kid, I always preferred to stop the movie after Moses got married in the desert; however, I do agree the duet with the brother has great harmony. By the way, the ending isn't actually them in the promised land. Unfortunately, they will have to wander the desert for several years, until they learn to want nothing but God... A cynical view point, but I'm not religious so I do find some of the events a bit disturbing. Anyway, DreamWorks never came out with the story of the 10 commandments, and the movie I did find was pretty bad; although, it's hard comparing any movies to these masterpieces. Trust me, you're not alone in loving this movie despite being nonreligious. Joseph: King of Dreams is even better. If I get the chance, I'll try to get it requested.

Ohhh I did notice it was the same song but didn’t know what that meant so thanks for explaining! And glad you liked it.

What a powerful way for you to be introduced to the story of Moses. One of my favorite movies.
