Always nice to see a kindred sci-fi lore mind at work. You put those initial pieces together nice and quickly at the beginning and was pretty spot on with the basics. I was precisely the same when I watched. Those other elements we both put together at pretty much the same points, making again the same reasonable leaps while waiting for all the final details to be revealed. It's sci-fi paint by numbers in a lot of ways. I can't say I regard this one as one of the best. But only because, like you, I felt it was pretty obvious from the beginning what was going on. I think the emotional elements elevate it for me however. It's fantastic that you enjoyed it. I don't think there are any really bad episodes. This one is just positioned lower down because the standard is pretty high.
