Content

A few months ago, I asked you guys if I should make a ukulele course. Most of you said yes! So ... I think it's time to bring structured content to my lovely uke family!

Now, I love you all, so I am gonna be 100% honest with you!

I am tired!

Not just a little bit!

Between my guitar channel, uke channel, and guitar channel in Italian (Yes, this one too), I spend hours every single week recording and organizing the new lessons.

I also have a three months old son looking at me all the time, distracting me from work, hehe!

Sometimes he's next to me while I am working, playing, or editing, making me feel like I am the luckiest dad in the world.

I am happy, but I am tired!

Despite all that, the first ukulele course is ready!

I did it! And I can't believe it. How did I manage to do it?

Let me explain (I hope you have three minutes).

In the past, all my courses had a minimum of 50/60 videos per course.

It's a lot of work!

The problem is, I am always scared to under-deliver, so every time I am organizing a new course, I keep telling myself, "Oh, I need to add that video too," so I always end up with a ton of stuff to record end edit!

It takes between three to five months to make such a course.

So, the idea of having to do the same with the ukulele filled me with fear. Realistically, I don't have enough time and energy for such a lengthy course.

That's why I kept pushing the idea away.

One day my wife goes like, "Why don't you make a mini-course? I think that nobody has the time to go through 50 or 60 lessons."

So I have been thinking about this course for months, and I couldn't find a way to get started.

And there she comes, suggesting the best idea ever while steering pasta and holding my son Alex at the same time.

We can't compete with women! Sorry boys! "The wife is always right."

Let me tell you about the course.

You see, the word "Mini-course" feels so freaking amazing because it implies that it's short and doable (for both of us).

I jotted down a few ideas and voilá! I had the mini-course ready.

About 10 lessons with 4 songs. Of course, the course covers a specific topic/technique.

It took me three weeks (Compared to the usual three to five months).

This works for both of us.

For me: I can finish the course quickly, which is awesome and inspiring.

For you: You can have a mini-course that doesn't feel impossible or too long to finish.

For us: We both work on new stuff every month or so!

These mini-courses aim to (finally) bring structured content to my ukulele family (You, guys).

So many emails saying, "The YouTube lessons are great, but they are all different! Do you have a course?"

Well, thank you a ton for inspiring me to do this. I am learning a lot from each one of you!

Think about a mini-course on basic chords for beginners. Or a mini-course on music theory. A mini-course on beautiful chords. The choices are endless!

We cal also do live Q&A for each course so that you can interact with me and ask questions! (I am still working on this one).

The mini-course(s) will be hosted on the Patreon page but for a higher (still affordable) tier.

We are preparing the website to make the lessons and courses easy to find.

I will keep you posted in a day or two when the course is ready to launch!

This one is about a fingerstyle technique called "Alternate Fingering." So, we gonna be plucking a lot of notes, melodies, scales, and chords!

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK DOWN BELOW!

Talk soon.

Thanks Marco for all your awesome tutorials. And your wife is right, I can’t keep up with

Marco, I think your sweet multitasking wife is right! I am taking other courses now, and they do put out so much new content, so frequently, that I would have to quit my job and make ukulele my full time job to even sort of keep up! I know they are trying to give us our money's worth, but somedays I don't know even where to start or I'm behind on the live lessons. That's when I usually tune into one of your lessons, and spend a week or so working on one of your songs. Also, your songs sort of go together/build on each other and can be played back to back or intermingled. Thank you for teaching us!

I guess most of your clients are beginner/intermediate players and short courses with readily attainable goals are just right. To stay motivated this is just what I need.

I love your lessons but always knew that I need

This is fantastic, and I can’t wait!

I am always looking for the next fun song, course, or beautiful tune to play. Your Patreon channel is unique, inspiring, and fun. Your course idea intrigues me. My only concern is that other courses I’ve tried have contain so much content that I’m not really interested in like strumming a song and singing. However, your idea sounds pretty good.

Sounds great, Marco. A mini-course even suits me much better than a large one, which can be overwhelming. Since I am also in online business I can say that small courses are much better for both sides plus you always have the option to combine several small courses to a larger one.

Wonderful, wonderful idea! Suits my primary goal of achieving continuous incremental improvement in a nice package. I've been trying to create my own mini-course from a few of your lessons by working on the first section or phrase of each. This mini-course will really support me in a significant way. Please enjoy more time with your lovely wife and your precious son and let this mini-course do the work for you by giving us some time to go through it.

I hope you can find at least 1 day to get some extra sleep. We love your content but not at the expense of your health and happiness 😁. I really like this idea because I’ve noticed I normally get burnt out of a course about 10 videos in so this is a great length for me.

Whatever you present is golden, so I’m sure this mini course will be as well. I always find something in your content to appreciate. Whether it matches my (or everyone’s) needs and taste specifically or not doesn’t matter. It will be perfect for many people, I’m sure. Most important is that you stay healthy and happy and don’t stress. Thank you for being such a wonderful inspiration!

Nice idea, as a self emplyed dad whose kids are all grown up, you get every memory you can one day you will wonder how you missed so much! Could you do a mini course on one song? Start with just chords, then build layer by layer, melody, lead, alternative chording and why, just a thought

Mini course sounds great. I love your Tutorials. But as still a beginner it would be perfect for me ,like Chris wrote before, layer by layer
