Thank you so much, Marco, for this lesson. I've been looking for just this type of instruction for a few years. It is so inspiring and informative. I often say that I just can't practice effectively or enjoy my playing if I am sad, mad, excited or agitated. Your approach helps me focus and attend to learning the skills and forget about everything else.

Thanks a lot for the kind words. I am glad you enjoy my teaching style, and I hope you can make the progress you are looking for. Enjoy the lessons.

Hi Marco, thanks so much for these lessons. I love the idea that something so simple can sound beautiful if played with precision and feeling. I've got a lot to learn, but this gives me something achievable to aim for. Keep these fairly simple chord/melody/fingerpicking lessons coming!

Hi Andrew. Absolutely! I will do my best to keep putting great content out every week. Enjoy the lessons and keep me posted on your progress.

Luv these lessons Marco. Are you ready to try a baritone uke yet? 😀 I try to transfer some of these over to that but would really like to see what you can do with a baritone. As amazing as your guitar skills are, I can only imagine your skills transferred to baritone uke and how you’d improvise.

marcocirilloukulele

Hi Ruthy, thanks a lot for the message. Yes. I will definitely try with a baritone uke at some point. I will get one this year for sure :)

Hi Marco, This and the few other lessons I have tried since joining your site a week ago are really helping me progress my fingerpicking technique way beyond what I hoped for. Aside from this your musical ideas are indeed beautiful. Thank you 🙏

Hey Marco! This is a beautiful piece of music. Became a member right away. I don't use my indexfinger but my thumb and middelfinger for the picking. Is there a downside to that? Can't wait for version 2 where you're working on! :-)

Marc Reuvers

I'm also practising with middle and indexfinger now, feels a bit awkward in the beginning but its getting better already

marcocirilloukulele

Hello Marc. Good question. As a guitar and ukulele teacher, I always recommend developing your finger dexterity to the maximum of your capability. Of course, the index finger is such an important plucking finger because it can easily reach the 3rd and 2nd string. Having said that, I think that there are a ton of ukulele players who have their way of playing, which sounds absolutely fine. So, to answer your question: If you think plucking with just thumb and middle is limiting your technique, then spend some time developing the index finger. If you are happy with the way you pluck the strings, don't change.

marcocirilloukulele

Awesome. Try practicing scales. They are a great tool for developing your alternate fingering technique. Good luck.

Hi Marco, I'm so happy I practised using the middle- and indexfinger. Its going so much smoother already. This song brought me a lot in regards to my technical skills. Thank you very much! I can't wait on the extended version!! 😍 Any idea when you will surprise us with that? Cheers!!
