Hello, top tier gang. So, we're all self-isolating. Sanja and I don't have you-know-what (not yet anyway), but our 16 year-old tested positive last night. She's fine - she says it just feels like a cold - but has had to miss her last day of high school (as have all her friends who've been in contact with her), which is a pisser for them. I was also planning on seeing my middle daughter this weekend for her birthday. That's out now.
I dunno if any of you have been through this, but it was full-on this morning. The phone was ringing non-stop - NHS, test and trace, the school... I hadn't anticipated all that.
I think we've been as guilty as anyone in thinking that this was all but over, but it's all too clear that we're not out of the woods yet.
Amusingly, when I did my test last night I retched, then threw up in my hand. I was quite proud that I managed to catch it perfectly. Not a drop on the floor.
But aaaaanyway... none of this is going to affect the Digi or BYAPOD schedule. Sanja and I are still planning to do an unboxing of all the post we've received of late, and we have a ton of Digi Deluxe in the bag. And next week's ep of the podcast is also done, just awaiting editing.
Unlike the first run of Digi Deluxe, we plan to spread these out a bit more. I don't want to send the message that Digi, at the baseline, is anything other than mine, and the more regulars we have on... the more that gets muddied, and we get the situation we had before. Besides, spreading them out keeps them feeling special.
For me, I still want to alternate between bigger episodes, and Sanja and I just sitting back and doing taste tests or talking about old tat. My only concern is a lack of visual continuity. I wish we could find a way to make the eps at home look a bit more like Digi Deluxe. I mean, I wish we had a studio, or a permanent set-up, ultimately.
I do want to do more Deluxe eps, though. Between those and Cheapshow's Urinevision ep, it felt nice to stretch out a bit more, if that makes sense. They're not cheap to do, and they're more organisation, and they're a lot more high-energy, which is exhausting. Sanja, myself and Gannon were profoundly knackered afterwards. I think we're all still recovering - Sanja's even buggered up her knee.
Aaaaanyhow... our attentions now turn to June's Supernatural World filming with Ashens, and Digi Live. Which we *hope* is still going ahead. We're working on that basis.
Right. Back to quarantine. UNCLEAN! UNCLEAN!
