The City of Nuluk, the only island-city within the lands of the Hæňgaram empire, boasts some of the most sea-faring commerce of any territory. The island was founded in the early history of the empire, named after a minor Hæňgaram sea god, Nulukintaliiyk.

As the empire's only island-city, entrance into Nuluk is heavily guarded by loyal Hæňgaram soldiers that stand patrol on the bridge. This bridge is the only way to enter the city aside from its popular shorelines that boast the courage of many fishermen and their boats. The seafood of Nuluk is said to be of such quality that it finds itself on Emperor Aldwyn's plate on many nights.

However, there is more to Nuluk than just fish, shrimp, and other sea life. The island is govered by one of the generals of the Emperor, a constant shift every so often to instruct new generals in  not only how to lead, but also symphatize with the concerns of the common people.

At Nuluk, the emperor's naval forces are trained in the art of sea-faring combat. It is also the place where captains, commanders, and lieutenants are commemorated, should they desire, to journey out into the sea aboard a Silver Knight Commander's Warship. If they are lucky, and obtain prominent achievements in service to the emperor, perhaps they shall be given command of their own ships with their own men.

Of course, there is much for the citizens as well. Nuluk boasts a vast lineage in the arts and sciences. Many poets, artists, writers, and magicians of the empire have found their origins in Nuluk. Talented artists who have been privileged to paint the likeness of Emperor Aldwyn and the Royal Family have gone to establish wealthy businesses.

Meanwhile, phenomenal dancers and musicians from Nuluk have played during the festivals and celebrations of Hæňgaram's national holidays. There was even one night were Emperor Aldwyn was troubled by strange dreams and a stringer from Nuluk, with careful fingers and skilled craft, was the only one to put him to sleep.

Though it might be small, Nuluk has no less the heart and soul of Hæňgaram as any other mighty structure. One would never think that they owed their continued perseverance to the hand of a pirate who felled a mighty invading force who'd come to claim its cultural treasures.
