(Upcoming) RetroArch 1.7.4 - What you can expect (Patreon)

- Rich Discord Presence support! 

You can enable or disable this feature by going to Settings -> Privacy and toggling the Discord setting.

For this to work, you need to go to the Discord app, click User Settings, go to Games, and make sure that 'Display currently running game as a status message' is enabled.

Will be available for Linux and Windows. macOS is still a question mark and might appear later.  

-  In-app RetroArch update! 

From version 1.7.4 on, it will now be possible to update RetroArch to either the latest stable or the latest nightly versions! 

Right now this is exclusive to the desktop UI (triggered by pressing F5), but we aim to make it possible to use this from the non-desktop UIs as well!

This feature will at least be available for Windows (and hopefully Mac as well). Linux distributions that provide their own customized flavors of RetroArch (in tune with their package manager) might opt a different strategy, we have no real control over that. Flatpak might be a viable solution though.

NOTE: Users who compile from source and then want to upgrade their RetroArch versions to the latest version through this Update Feature might experience some slight redist issues with certain DLLs. You might have to download the redist from the buildbot then to ensure the program works. We might or might not resolve this in time before release.
