Volume 3.5 Chapter 35:
It was time for the elective class. It seems I'm the only one here. Keith looked around and noticed that he was the only one there. The elective class he decided to take was the knight course.
There were many students he hadn't seen before. But there was one person he recognized,
"Yo, Jack!"
Keith waved his hand to get Jack's attention.
"Hi, Keith!" Jack answered. That caused Keith to pause before laughing,
"You don't have to be so uptight around me. I'm not angry about what happened." The incident at lunch was still fresh in everyone's mind. But Keith didn't mind it.
"But you should choose your friends better," Keith added. He was surprised Jack would be friends with a person like that. It was weird.
"Heh," Jack chuckled, "I don't think I can choose. And he isn't my friend."
He isn't your friend? Keith was confused now. But he couldn't ask Jack about it as he walked away.
What did he mean by this? While Keith was lost in thought, the professor entered the training ground.
It was none other than Tennol.
"Hello, everyone. I think all of you know me as your martial arts instructor. I'm also the instructor of the knight class as well," Tennol looked at the students around.
"We have a lot of talented people here who want to become a knight," Tennol smiled as he stared at the sight.
But then he turned to Keith and Krystal, "And we also have the young masters of the Rustchil and Freed household here as well,"
Keith turned the girl. Krystal Rustchil. She was also in S-class as well. She was the daughter of the Grand Duke of Rustchil.
She was reserved compared to the others.
"Today's class is going to be a light one. You all will be picking your horses today," Tennol smiled. When the students heard that, they were excited.
That was one of the reasons why people chose the knight class. It focused on horseback riding. That horse would be their partner for life.
"I will lead you to the stables," Tennol stated. Like that, they have arrived at the stables. And there were so many horses that were there.
Keith was in awe at how incredible these horses were. They're all fast horses.
"Go ahead and pick out the horse you want. However, if the horse doesn't choose you, don't force it." Tennol warned.
"Understood," Everyone started to pick their horse.
"This one looks so cool,"
"Look at the muscles!"
"I want that one!"
Most of the students didn't hesitate to choose a horse they thought was cool looking. Keith looked around. He was curious about which horse he wanted.
There was one that caught his eye.
It was a bit larger than the others. Not only that, it had an eye-catching bronze fur. Keith could tell it was a fast and powerful horse. But when he got close to it, another person was there.
"This horse is mine," Krystal stated. She noticed the horse as well. Keith scratched his head,
"You understand the horse is the best, right?"
"Indeed," It was different from the others.
"How about we rock paper scissors for it," Keith stated with a laugh.
Krystal frowned at the joke, "I don't want to do that."
"Then what should we do?"
Krystal stated, "We'll let the horse decide who is the better owner,"
"Oh, we can do that," Keith smiled. Like that, the two of them turned to the horse, letting it be the one to decide on who to ride it.
The horse looked at both Keith and Krystal. Its gaze was stern as it looked at both of them. Anyone could tell it was having a tough time deciding. But it decided who the owner was.
The horse had picked Krystal. Krystal nodded as she got up on the horse.
"Oh, well," Keith couldn't cry about it. Like Tennol said, the horse decided on their partner. Keith continued to look around. But after some time, he realized something,
"Um, Professor Tennol, all the horses are taken,"
