Ever gotten triggered by a 6 year old super shredder on youtube? It's easy to lose hope when comparing ourselves to others

Let's be honest, we guitarists have enormous egos. The guitar is the best selling musical instrument in the world. Because of this, g string fingerers feel tremendous pressure each time we handle our hardwood. Here's 3 ways you can nurture healthy self esteem and enjoy a fruitful relationship with your instrument

1. Mindset

Mindset is the most important thing when it comes to self esteem. Affirm your unique worth through meditation. For example, focus on something you do well throughout the day to promote positive self image

2. Solitude

Spending time alone is when we find ourselves. Constant media consumption makes it hard to hear the sound of your own voice. Schedule alone time with specific objectives. Think about your goals and fantasize about how good it will feel when you achieve them

3. Education

Expand your knowledge base by learning new things. Music theory, technique, songs, jamming with others. Challenging ourselves increases confidence and gives us the courage to face adversity
