Ever wondered where to start when it comes to music theory? Theory is frequently dumped off a cliff by guitar players because it’s intimidating. The truth is, music theory isn’t hard. You just need a clear, structured approach. Take things one step at a time and enjoy the process muhahaha!

1. Musical Notation

Notation is how we communicate concepts in the musical language. Learn the notes on the staff to decode melody, harmony and rhythm

2. Intervals

Intervals are the distance between two notes. This is what allows you to understand the construction of scales and chords

3. Scales

A scale is a series of notes that connects an octave. Learning scales is the secret to handling your hardwood across the entire fretboard on level 420

4. Chords

Chords are three or more notes played at once. Harmony is perhaps the most important tool for songwriters to master. Make the babes swoon with the 69 chord or impress religious friends with the GSUS

5. Keys

Study key signatures to learn which notes sound good together. Determining the key is the first step in soloing over a song or doing a takedown

⚡️For this at the $10 tier, Learn more about the 5 pillars of music theory with my full 4 hour course below!
