Here's a finger tapping exercise that outlines a neoclassical progression in Em. Using the primary chords Em-Am-B or i-iv-V. It takes a good amount of strength in the left hand to tackle the hammer ons from nowhere. Just think of the left hand shapes as simple power chord variations and you'll be fine. 

The secret to making any guitar technique sound good is to outline a pleasing chord progression. I write little exercises like this every time I practice to keep my chops up but also to stay musical.
