Welcome to my Patreon everyone! And welcome to my very first piece of bonus audio for this Patreon, which features my wife (@joyofnapping on Twitter) interviewing me. I created this piece of bonus audio for two purposes:

1) To kick-off the Patreon audio feed. Everybody gets their own podcast feed! To use and enjoy yours, go to my Patreon page, click on "My membership" and go to the "Private RSS link," then transfer it to your favorite podcast app (e.g. Apple Podcasts, Overcast, PocketCasts, etc.).

2) To share some thoughts about what my motivations for creating this Patreon page were, and how creating it has already impacted my life.

Also, as I mention in the episode:

  • This episode is available for ALL Patrons. But starting tomorrow, only $10+ Patrons will receive updates like these.
  • Joanna Robinson and I will be having a series of three conversations about Lovecraft Country. These episodes will be available to patrons in the $10+ tier for both her Patreon and mine.
  • If you contributed to the Patreon on Friday August 14 or before, you should have received a personalized video thank you message from me. Check your inbox (and spam/promotions folder?) to make sure you get it!
  • As I mention, I'm going try to experiment a bit with what kind of content you want in the bonus audio feed in these early days. I might put more things in the feed than I might otherwise - unpolished things, personal things, etc. As with all things in this Patreon, your feedback will guide what I end up producing.

Thanks for your generosity, thanks for listening, and I hope you enjoy the conversation.

I have had minimal exposure to your wife through tweets and you mentioning her on podcasts, but listening to this interview, she is absolutely charming.

To be fair, I hate emails and have never sent an email to anyone whose work I love. Not the Giant Bombcast, Giant Beastcast, Dave Chen, anyone. It’s why I liked Twitter and being able to interact with people there (lot if people got sick of the noise on there so that’s fallen off.)It’s why I like Discord servers for Patreons where you are more likely to interact there. (Yes, finally listened to this podcast.)
