Fascinating reaction to an incredible song. My take is he had a pretty bad life, she made it better until he did something to screw it up. The rest of the song is his regret. I think, just me, the rest is symbolism. My favorite part is the old guy with broken teeth who seemed to be saying, "Yeah, everything gets screwed up." Hey, I'm an old guy with broken teeth! And sometimes, I'm that guy...sometimes...I don't listen to me.
