Really enjoyed the film, I can see why they changed Alia´s character arc

I´ve read the book and I´m a fan, and I saw the film with someone who had never read the book and someone who has the read the book but not that bothered by it. We all enjoyed the film (people clapped at the end, not heard that in a cinema in a while). I thought making Chani a skeptic was a good move and they did make Jessica more sinister, mainly because I think she had to represent the reprehensible qualities of the Beni Gesserit. And being a Brit of a certain age, yes, I watched some scenes with "he´s not the messiah he´s a very naughty boy" in my head and my companion whispered to me "you are the messiah lord and I should know, I´ve followed a few" at one point. Also, this was a cinematic film and reminded me of why I love the cinema, not just films: the cinema. Sound mix was incredible.
