The Sandman, unscripted thoughts

I just subscribed, quite possibly for the sole reason of seeing your thoughts on the show haha (I didn't even know about it until watching your American Gods video) I watched the show about a week after it came out and I just fell in love with it, to the point where I bought a set of the comics and read them all in about 2-3 weeks. There's quite a bit about the first few issues of the comics that were adapted into the show that I both like and dislike, but all in all, it flows really well. I particularly liked how they adapted the Calliope story, since the content is quite triggering at times. It was presented in a way that shows us exactly what happened without having to be too in your face about it. I thought the vortex story was drawn out a bit, but it wasn't enough to take away from my enjoyment. I absolutely loved the Sound of Her Wings and Men of Good Fortune stories together, and I know not everyone agrees, but it was the perfect episode. The emotion of the first half, showing how everyone dies, regardless of who they are, immediately followed by the story of Hob Gadling who just refuses to ever die, no matter what his circumstances are. And how Death is just like... ok, let's see how this goes (there's another story later on where they both appear again but I won't spoil it for those who haven't read it) I'm really glad to have discovered the series, and I can't wait to see how they adapt future stories (as of November 2022, season 2 was announced)

"Morpheus in his tank" left me for several seconds with a vivid, mental image of Dream badly photoshopped into a 1940's style war machine, which would also have been highly entertaining, albeit for different reasons. Oh and thank you for recommending the audiobooks too, I absolutely hyperfixated on this after watching the show and listening to them was great! Perhaps a little unwise of me to listen to the diner part while sitting alone in a dark room at a job where some people tend to scream when going to bed (all lovely people and not violent), but I suppose being scared was at least part of the point, so perhaps I just got the deluxe experience XD
