Hmm, this feels familiar

Salvatore Cucinotta

Given the comment about Ninja, clearly, you need to eventually do an episode on "Pride & Prejudice & Zombies."

I'd forgotten the American version has that awful nightdress outside scene at the very end 😖

Now do "The Lizzie Bennett Diaries"

Love the commentary on their wealth change. I’d subconsciously noticed but hadn’t been able to put my finger on why the family felt differently stressed

Lynda Ward

Any chance of doing PERSUASION or SENSE AND SENSIBILITY?

“I just want to look absolutely gorgeous without having my sight impeded - is that too much to ask?” Ah, the eternal struggle.

I always felt this was Pride and Prejudice through the Bronte filter (what with all the wondering about in the mist that Liz and Darcy do at the end).

Magical Mr. Mistoffelees

Which is that Darcy pretends to be Jane for three seconds. It makes me laugh every time.

This was my first introduction to Austen beyond vague awareness and I went absolutely feral for it. Sassy Lizzie, awkward Darcy and the most gorgeous cinematography I'd ever seen. I've read P&P about 20 times at this point in my life and this film can take a lot of the credit.

Am I the only one who finds the fact that the guy who plays a Tyrannical patriarch who tries to make the protagonist marry a man she doesn’t love also plays a laid back hands-off patriarch who specifically tells the protagonist NOT to marry a man she doesn’t love a bit ironic (at least in the colloquial use of the term)?

Awkward Darcy did something to me. Yknow that bit where he helps her into the carriage and his hand does that thing. Oh my heart.

The thing I love about pride and prejudice is that it's really a story of growth and social justice. Darcy learns from his experience and does things to fix problems without asking for credit. At the same time Elizabeth also shows growth and the people who are manipulating, controlling, and lying all receive consequences for their actions

DK Jones

While the 2005 version doesn't have Darcy in wet clothes, it does have him in the rain so I still count it towards the Wet Hot Darcy count

Is it even a modern Austen adaptation if the hot dude doesn't wander around in a state of undress he would have never even considered doing in the book?

Faerie Glen

Nice subtle change: Mr Bennet appears to be in pretty poor health with his constant wheezing breath. This makes his wife‘s obsession with marrying off the daughters a bit more understandable because his life expectancy may be limited. Nice touch.

I rewatched it recently and realized it has the funniest Mr. Collins of any adaptation I've seen.

It wasn't my introduction to JA, but P&P was the first visual medium based on her work I've ever consumed and remains my second favourite (Emma. being the first)

I’m so glad you did this adaptation Dom, it is my all time favorite film adaptation.

I find your voice very soothing! <3
