Wait wait wait, the birth control she missed 4 times was the SHOT!?! Dude, you get the shot every 3 months! 🤣🤣🤣 That would be a full year of birth control!

Anonymous

@levelsinadulting - so far as I'm aware, they haven't even been together that long!

This video has a lot of things to comment on but can I just say sketch-Ana has some lovely biceps. <3

@Catriona My guess is that the fanfic nature of the series caused the author to lose track of time or she also knows nothing about modern birth control

I hate how ignorant the entire series is

Anonymous

Oh poor Dom.

Anonymous

You know what this series has made me realise ? People must be hard up as hell for dirty books to 1) make this successful and 2) ignore all the terrible plot, dialogue, and character motivation, for the dirty parts.

Anonymous

I no longer have the strength to be outraged, just exhaustedly groaning "oh of course" at every bit of nonsense Grey does.

E.L. is apparently doing what Stephenie Meyer was originally going to do with Twilight; namely rewriting the entire series from the male's perspective. I do believe she's two books in at this point, as I had to shelve the damned things at work.

Anonymous

... As a writer who can’t get publishers or agents to look at my novels, the fact E. L. James is a bestseller hurts my very soul. I pray to God that one day all of these books will be buried in the middle of the desert like the E.T. Atari games

Anonymous

Claims to be Dom in name only, but pulls of an excellent impression of one at the start. Well done for setting those boundaries. :)

Anonymous

Actually, in addition to those, she's publishing a new book, unrelated to the Fifty Shades Series, news broke like two days ago about it. Comes out in April.

Anonymous

The E.T. Atari games deserved it less than these books.

CJ Spargo

From what I've gathered, it's mostly bored housewives who don't know how to find the good stuff on the internet

What the hell? This is the worst relationship I've ever heard off...Hell this makes Twilight look marginally better! How?! How this erotic? He's an abusive jerk. Seriously everything he does is textbook abusive partner and horrifying. Also Ana is horrible person as well...screw it everyone is. I've read blatant rip off fan fictions better then this. What the hell?!

I know how you feel. After awhile you just feel numb to it. I had to remind myself i couldn't afford that for this review.

Herr Frodo Brömmelkamp

I'm not a huge fan of the way you implemented that sponsorship deal. I'm really happy you got it! Inserting it into the middle of the video (which I imagine you had to because of the deal) gave me hard whiplash, though, especially because it moved over into the sponsored content so seemlessly. Nothing changed - music didn't change, the cut was exactly the same as the ones you do while reviewing anyways, even the background kept scrolling along happily - and this made it a bit jarring for me. TL;DR: I'm very happy you got the sponsorship and feel like the ad break should be more distinguishable from the surrounding video. === Also, tear that book a new one in the next video. Can't wait!

I just realized something and I don't know if it was mentioned before, but it is just cruel that they cast Kim Basinger in one of these movies again even if she isn't the love interest this time. Fifty Shades is like a terrible knock off of 9 1/2 Weeks (which, to put it mildly, didn't end well, but at least she got away), and I've read articles about how the way they filmed that movie made her almost have a breakdown. I mean it is weirdly symbolic that she created Grey (and even the last name of the abuser is the same, ugh), but it's just messed up in my mind. It's like the abused becoming the abuser. I wonder if anyone even acknowledged that when they cast her.

I know I am really late in the game but this is the first video I found on The Dom's channel because I was looking up how people thought about the films and the books. It took two other videos to realize that the Dom was his name. I am glad I found this Youtuber because He makes me smile from saying that books are horrible.
