So I see some artists usually post art to patreon 1-2 weeks before it goes public, and that's cool!

But I am wondering what you guys think about that, should I post art on here 1 week prior to release?

Reason why I haven't done this before until the Nick & Judy - Shower Intimacy, was to experiment a little bit.

And usually patreons are happy receiving something earlier as a benefit to being a supporter.

And I haven't felt quite comfortable holding back my art from everyone, because I am a guy that LOVES sharing everything I create, so making 1 week art schedules would be a difficult task for me.

So I am asking for your opinions in the comment, should I start holding back public-releases 1 week here on patreon? or post my content immediately?

Personally I think patreon-only release and then public release a week or so after makes the most sense

Posting your content after X amount of time gives more incentive for potential patrons to join. It's worth it monetarily, and will also make us patron members feel more inclined to stay supportive!

To me, the benefit of being a patron is just that i get to support your work, because i think there should be more of it in the world. But i can understand others wanting a little something-something. It might be possible to find other benefits, even if it's not as common

I have no vote. I'm good with either. I'm here because your art is all in one place, I get notified when there's new content or messages, and I'm able to throw you a few bucks each month.

Honestly im happy not to get a benefit as i like to see your work but i would say if you do want to make a wide appeal to your patreon is to time gate content or to only post nsfw version to patreon. It seems especially potent if you time gate nsfw comics as people would rather pay and see like 2-3 pages ahead =)

I do a 2 week delay myself. Not sure if that's standard or anything, that's just the duration I chose for me.

Rex Wolf

I think a one week delay is pretty fair, considering some artists delay public releases by two weeks or even a month (and sometimes not at all). In that context, a one week delay is pretty minimal.

As others have said, the early-access will incentivize more people to support you. HD sizes are fantastic, and I'm happy to support you in order to get them, but I've met a lot of people who are perfectly happy with the tiny FA pictures. Early access to the images might convince some of them to support you.

early patreon release is totally reasonable even if you don't intend to pay wall your work, it's a small benefit for supporting, although just a tip jar patreon is fine too if you wish to release at the same time!

I am here to support your work, I don't actually care if I see things first.

I feel it defeats the point of Patreon, even though I love to help you with your art.

I'm here for the high Quality, not for being an early bird ^^

Latio

i really dont care, i want support you because of your awesome drawings and not for "benefits" :D (and i have learned much from you too :P (drawing etc.))

CorWolf

If you want to share something first, then just stick with "WIPs", that is enough in my opinion.

I like the benefit feeling if I get to see new art first and for those who aren't Patreons, a week isn't that much depending on how much advertisment you do... I don't like to get my inbox on FA spammed with all those "Hey I got NEW art but Only on Patreon!" images ^^!
