Teaser - Spider Gwen (Patreon)

And now for something completely different.  Sometimes you get a project that really just takes over your agenda.  This just happened when I got a tip off that this costume was available.  I did not make it.  However, I have made the girl who wears it.  But if you want to see her unmasked, you will have to wait until tomorrow!

I first became aware of Spider Gwen through fellow Patreon creator https://www.patreon.com/shiroganesama whose cosplay of Gwen is probably the most gorgeous thing I have seen since Chonastock did Star Trek (and that was over a decade ago).  I then went on to watch Spider Man - Into the Spiderverse where some of the 'alternative' Spider people were showcased.

Spider Gwen aka Gwen Stacy exists in Earth-65, a parallel universe in which she, not Peter Parker, was bitten by a radioactive spider, and gained all the spider powers we most commonly associate with him.  The less said about what happened to Peter Parker himself, the better.

I am onto the second volume of the graphic novels at the moment and they are pretty decent.  Gwen herself is featured at or around High School age, and plays drums in a band called the Mary Janes.  Her father is chief of the NYPD, which is pretty awkward as initially he tracks her down as a criminal suspect.

Obviously these are just initial studio renders and they are just designed to showcase the suit, which is a very faithful reproduction of the comics (and pretty close to the movie).  If this gets a positive reception I may try and do a few fun action shots of Gwen doing spider-things.  I probably won't have her mask on much after this as once you see how incredibly cute and wholesome she looks underneath you will want it to stay off!
