'Sleazy and Demure' (Total Recall, 1990)

I know that some of you like this outfit, and some of you hate it, but here it is anyway!  It's going back a few years that I developed the idea of a 'rebellious summer' for Amanda.  All teenagers, even goodie-two-shoes heroic sleuths like Amanda, go through a stage of growing up where they gain independence and sexual maturity and suddenly don't know what to do with it.  Without parental control, as young adults, we are suddenly forced to set our own limits on behaviour and sometimes we get it wrong.  Anyway, enough of the psuedo-psycho-babble.

This outfit fits in the Amanda timeline between her first and second years at University.  Long-time Amanda followers will know that, after graduating from St Hilda's high school and solving the Briar Ridge mystery, 18-year old Amanda embarked on a hair-raising tour of Europe, all at her father's expense.  It's here that she met Kat and Hannah.

A year later, after good progress at University, Amanda was expecting another such tour. She had plans for Central America.  Imagine her disgust and shock when her father told her there was no money available for such dangerous capers and that she should grow up and get a summer job! After an uncharacteristic fit of rage, Amanda decided to rebel and go on a domestic spree of investigating adventures.  But not before she had allowed room-mate and bestie Ciara to give her a bowl cut and some really quite awful fashion advice.  Gone are the prim turtlenecks and pleated skirts, say hello to mesh shirts, hold ups and big boots!

It's OK, after a few mishaps with 'Heisenberg' and 'Mark Jefferson', Amanda will regain control and end up serving out the summer as an assistant librarian in NYC (see story The Casket Caper).

I hope you like this re-work done in Genesis 8, with all new models and resources except for Amanda's hair (I kept the V4 hairstyle as it's iconic to the look and I couldn't find a better replacement) and also the sweater tied arond her waist.  With this sweater, it was V4 model but I have worked out how to add dForce to the surfaces so it drapes nicely around her.  The mesh shirt combo are custom textures where I have basically used the same shirt twice and placed one over the top of the other.  The collision detection is Daz 4 is so clever, I have very few poke-through issues.
