I'm pleased to say that this week I finished Lilith's quest. This was the lynchpin of a lot of different content I'd worked on last month, so it was always going to be necessary for TLS 0.65.0. I did other stuff, but I'll talk about Lilith this week.
Acquiring Lilith involves a lot of different pieces of work. Perhaps the least of which is her dungeon, which includes a variety of mechanics I hope will make it stand out. The screenshot above is one of the maps involved... you can see that the very look of it is chaotic.
Some months ago I made a post about Lilith, which was one of the few to inspire real argument in the comments. Let's not do that again, so I'll just state the final decision: Lilith will not be doing the "actually 1000 years old" trope.
What this has freed me to do is let myself be a little weird with her sex scenes. Some things will be familiar tropes that were simply too silly or unrealistic even for the TLS setting. But in other cases... I'm not sure if anyone will actually find any of her scenes erotic, but I'll be disappointed if at least one of these isn't something that you have never seen before. She doesn't have a set of three scenes, she has a unique mechanism.
Lilith is also the last combat member. (Surprise! But she won't be going in that part of the harem menu.) Her mechanics are completely different from everyone else, something I've been waiting to do for a long time. Everything is working, and I've tried to set up some interesting emergent properties, but I have no idea how balanced it will be and thus will want player feedback.
At the beginning of the month I'd hoped for a January 27 release, which now seems impossible. Despite heroic efforts from patrons, the portrait feature is not yet done. On my end, I have many pieces about 80% done and I don't want to underestimate the phase of bringing things together and testing.
So not next weekend. But hopefully soon.
