Introducing Character Portraits! (Art Preview #28) (Patreon)

Alright, $10 backers, time to reveal a long-running secret! For the past quite a while, some of Annikath's art time has been dedicated not to new scenes, but to new unique art of the characters. Now is the time to reveal it and get your suggestions!

This entire business actually came about due to a fan utilizing the $50 tier. The request reward is rarely used, but in this case it synergized well with something I was planning. I think it will be a nice addition to the game and I hope everyone will agree!

In a future TLS update, players will engage with a quest that results in various characters sitting for in-world portraits. This will be its own set of events, with some hopefully amusing encounters, but the end result will be that players receive these portraits and can use them to customize their base. This is all a bit excessive, but I hope that after spending so much time with these characters, people will find this enjoyable. ^-^

At the top of this post, you'll find all the portraits that have been made so far, which nearly completes my original plan (bar one). The reason I'm explaining now is that I'd like to get player opinions on potential other portraits. Additional caveat: all character bust images have been converted to portrait form, so you can hang up anyone's face. Want Antarion for some reason? He's available. Mestan? We made a special memorial version.

The goal is less getting a portrait for every character than resonating with their personalities. Yarra, for example, would absolutely want a pin-up painted of her, so she has one. I thought it would be regal for Esthera and Nalili to have a mother/daughter picture of themselves (clothed for once), so that was one of my priorities. Qum gets excited by all the pictures and wants to participate. Etc. I leave it to you to guess the stories behind the Simon and Orcent portraits.

But I'm sure there are others... it occurs to me that Carina and Sarai could have a religiously themed painting? Mention any of your thoughts now, because this customization system will likely be complex enough that I won't want to add any more later.
