Lots of stuff happening. $5 patrons are playing the newest version of the game complete with the full art. $10 patrons just got the first ever art package (all scenes at full resolution plus maps/fanart/etc). This is also your notification that I just updated that post with a new version, now with 273 total images.

Potentially relevant to everyone is the above image, as Street Cultivation 2 has launched! You can find it here:

It's off to a pretty strong start and held in the top 1000 for a decent while. No way of knowing what the rest of the month will bring, but at least I've finished making all my promotional posts.

Next weekend, I still need to do my promotional push for the arted version of TLS. But aside from that, I am finally finishing the first phase of 2020. I knew that it would be a bit busy, and I've courted a little burnout, but I've finished all my main goals and prepped things for the rest of the year. Hopefully the rest of 2020 will be less stressful, including TLS story updates and wrapping up some side projects.

Emily looking kinda not Asian there, but it's a decent cover aside from that. Interesting blurry style, not sure what to call it. Good luck with your promotions.

Wait is the 200+ images in the game or just the art pack?

sierralee

The art pack includes about 60 images that are larger versions of the ones in the game, plus fanart, maps, and essentially whatever else people asked for.

Darthjake

Just recommended Street Cultivation, New Game Minus and TBS to a friend, he only does audio books though so I think he was going to pick up the ones that were available in that format.

I appreciate this! Honest recommendations are still one of the most powerful forces in the book industry.

Regarding a six-months old debate on engines for future projects... That might be old news in the RPGMaker community, but I've just discovered some people have managed to trick MV into a somewhat decent VN engine. I think (not a RPGMaker specialist by far) they use the default dialog system, with an eventless, single-image, map as the background, and a plugin to add the "fast forward text" feature. This is probably more troublesome and time-consuming than using Ren'Py for the pure VN parts, but has the advantage of giving access to the other features of MV, mainly the already coded inventory and battle system.

This is relevant to my interests! It would lack some standard VN features, but I can definitely see potential uses. Is there any particular place this content is gathered?

Are maps in the art pack the same ones included in-game?

sierralee

There are larger resolution versions with more detail. However, you can see most of the same maps on the wiki.
