March 31 Update (Patreon)
Content
March is over and it didn't go as well as I wanted. =/ Basically, I recognized that I was going to have trouble with the next TLS update, so I decided that I would take a month to clear my plate of everything else while I improved the update's plans. But though I did a bunch of work, it wasn't enough. Since I always try to be transparent and some people have been asking about side projects, I'll lay out my overall progress.
TLS: There are two reasons I'm struggling with the upcoming update. 1) I think my outline isn't to the standards I've set, and 2) I'm working through some emotional garbage from last year. It remains very much on my mind, though, and I'd be happier if I'd already gotten the update out. I don't want it to be too long between updates even when I'm putting out other things.
TLS Art: I continue to work with Annikath on figuring out the details with potential art. Please look forward to some TLS threads where you get to see new art and vote on some core decisions about style and how the game's art should be allotted.
Once Ever After: Higher backers got to play the first 10 hours of the game and I made a ton of changes and improvements based on feedback, bringing it to the end of the first major phase. I had intended to keep going until it was done, but I think that would take too much time away from TLS. Still, getting so many opinions was valuable and I feel more confident about commissioning more of the many assets this game will need.
Don't Save the Princess: We are very close to the first major public demo. Actually, the only thing holding it back is that I just haven't put the time into it because I don't want it to distract me from other writing.
New Game Minus #3: I will be happy to finish my LitRPG trilogy, so I'm trying to sink time into this right now. But unfortunately, with a novel of this length I can have a dozen fantastic writing days in a row hardly taking any breaks and still not be finished. It should be wrapped up early April.
Ironside: This novel is completely revised and has gone through beta readers, so it's done for now. Actually, I suppose there's no reason that I couldn't show it to backers here who want to read. It's a standalone novel - low fantasy and somewhat grimdark.
I know at least some people will object to it seeming like I'm spreading myself too thin. That's true to a degree, but I can only argue that my core motivation is momentum: I love creating things, so when I struggle on one I want to keep working by switching to something else. Having said that, some of these have been on my plate for over a year - my goal is to finish them and not replace them with new secondary projects.
Unrelated to all of that, somebody did a speedrun of Ouroboros, which is pretty crazy:

Anyway, back next week, hopefully saying I've finished some things!
