Newest version is up on the blog:

https://the-last-sovereign.blogspot.com/2018/02/tls-0322-released.html

This isn't a weekly update. Do check for any more bugs, but I may be a while in responding, as I have some important things to focus on.

Secular Reason

Hey Sierra, so I've just gotten back into playing and I really enjoyed the update. Particularly? I enjoyed the bit with Andra. Seeing her like that was... satisfying. Not in the arousing sense lol, but to see the woman who was so overbearing turn so simply, of her own volition no less, though she no doubt swears to herself that it is the Incubus King magic making her do so... Well, let's just say that I enjoy it. As for the rest? You know me by now, I love the more esoteric aspects of your games more than everything else. I'm a Lore Whore after all, and I'm very much into mythology. So, this "altered space". Am I correct in assuming that the others, if/when they get their own shards, will be further altering our base? That Simon's portion will be the foundation, the bedrock, and they will add their own bits to it? That the place will symbolize much more than their base, but their connection with each other as well eventually? Or that it COULD whether or not they actually do this? Also, I just had another thought that I can't believe escaped me before. The hair of different people changes as they live in different nations. Ardans have one color, Yhillini another. It is easy to tell who is a foreigner and who is not. This is not genetic, because children born in a new land get the color of those in that land. Well, why is this? In-story, I mean. What causes this change? (I think you mentioned the what, but not the why before.) Beyond that, Succubi are the sole exception to this. But even their hair matters. With rare exception, their hair tells you their skills. Which is weird. Why does this do this? Even more, why does HAIR of all things matter so much? What made HAIR the determining factor? In-story, I mean. Not for you the author.. Worse... what does the different types of hair among the Incubus Kings say about them? Will Simon's hair change? Or have I taken a developers fun joke too seriously? With you, one never knows what has ties to some plot development, and what is just there for fun.

sierralee

Hey, glad to hear from you again! And glad you enjoyed the content, of course. I've been holding onto that twist for Andra for a long time. ^-^ Glad to hear of your interest in the lore, but I'm afraid I can't comment on the shard speculation. What you wrote isn't quite what I intended, but you will also see some interesting developments in the future. On hair... you may be taking it a little too seriously. =P I believe I have said at one point that hair color is influenced by local magic in a region, particularly Yhilini hair trending green. But did I say that children born in a different country have that hair color? If so, that may be inconsistency on my part. Hair color obviously has a major genetic component, just like our world.

Guess it must have been not seen, so, here again, as I cant for whatever technical reason not find (anyone) as to send a pm, here a link to a save where the current bug are present : https://mega.nz/#!C0wBFRya!RERq7UMMe_W-YPxTbM5_GoFyigwCuxXqM-MrXU9sZXQ As said : - Stark is still without body in my inventory. - Not possible to choose the next research. - Wynn has still 10 Simon anger points, not sure if tied but she also do not open her joining the harem option.

sierralee

I saw it, I just can't really trust files from people who repeatedly throw pirating the game in my face. In any case, I don't think your save needs fixing: - If Stark is in your inventory, then you should be able to go through the event transforming him. - The save fixer event on the teleport screen exists to fix this. - You are describing the way the game is supposed to work, not a bug.

Nice work! Look forward to trying it out soon!

Hey, long-time lurker here. First off: Big respect for all the work that's being put into making this an interesting game with a coherent story. This is most definitely one of the few games (RPG Maker or not) that have managed to keep me genuinely curious about what would happen next, and the writing itself is on a high level throughout which is no small feat. That being said, there are two things that have been bothering me and I hope that you see my bringing them up as an attempt to give you input for further improving the game rather than trying to be a dick: On the visual side, a lot of locations lack polish, in my opinion - they are easy to navigate and hold a few interesting details, but I've noticed more than once that locations look too empty, too artificial, or too confined. Designing levels so well that they just naturally fit into the game and support the suspension of disbelief is both difficult and time-consuming, so I can understand if that hasn't been the highest priority, but if giving the game another pass or two and make the locations themselves more immersive isn't already on the to-do list for when the game is basically finished, it might be worth putting on there. The other thing that's been bothering me are the very thing that got me interested in the game in the first place: The sex scenes. This is going to sound harsh no matter how I put it, so please don't take this the wrong way, but I can't think of a single sex scene in the game that left me wanting for more. I mean, none of them feel out of place, they all fit right in where they are (which is saying something, considering how some writers try to brute-force romantic encounters into the most ridiculous situations) and they all have a clear, erotic idea behind them and I really like that. I also wouldn't say that it's the lack of images that is bothering me (if Last Man has proven anything, it's that thousands of images can't make up for bad writing and terrible design decisions). My issue is that the scenes feel mechanical to me; I'm not sure if they lack thoughts, feelings, subtle interactions/reactions, or if they are a little too short overall, but I think it might be a little bit of everything. I'm not saying "they're garbage", I hope I've made that clear enough. I also don't want to suggest that you are bad at writing erotica - I have the utmost respect for your work and I wouldn't dare compare what humble contributions I've made to what's on the internet to what you have achieved. I'm merely suggesting that you give these scenes a long look too, once everything else is finished - I usually end up disliking what I've written if I read it again at a later date, but I also tend to have a clear idea of what's missing or weird and how I can make it better. So, that's my two cents.

sierralee

Hi, thanks for your feedback! I'm glad some elements of the game work well for you, and sorry to hear that such major elements don't.

I've been playing the public version for a while, several times in fact. I hope to be in a position to support your work in the future. I just wanted to say that this is one of the best games I've played in many years. Your work is phenomenal. The stories are gripping and the narrative is enticing and smoothly delivered. A metric I use for adult content games is "would it be good if the naughty were scrubbed off?" and yours is the only one I've played where that is true. I like the adult parts, very well done, but even if this game didn't have them I would love your work.

sierralee

Thank you very much! I certainly strive for all those things, so I'm glad to hear when they work for someone.

I don't know if someone's already said this, but when you first get to Eustrin in Chapter 3 you can clear out the extra tunnels before you even clear out the original ones.

Anonymous

Hiya, I'm playing this version currently and gotten to Eustrin for the first time again, where a new npc dwarf offers to take me to a new tunnel as "the one i first cleared still is cleared". Am I right in assuming that an npc thats meant to appear in the future revisit to Eustrin has appeared too early here?

Desuwa

The girl in the outskirts who says "Some of my relatives were nervous, but I really do feel safe here!" is always facing south, even as she walks in other directions or if you talk to her. Same for the Succubus who always faces east.

I still seem to be having the issue where I can't get Riala to research anything. She's hard at work on a research project that I haven't selected. I have a fairly larger number of saves. If I jump far enough back, should I be able to get Riala to do research? If so, how far back?

Trevor

Did you trigger the event in the teleporter room? I had the same issue until then.

DukeLeto7

Quickie question. The ch 3 trade route investments have been upped in profitability to 200k when rejoining Megail at the Blue Rose and 100k in the Ch4 iterate event, creating a discrepancy between the two. Is this the intended change? (I only ask because the ch4 iterate and the Blue Rose payout were identical heretofore.)

Hello there... Is it possible to make custom weapons for reshaped-Varia? I got steel but I don't know where i can forge it... I'v spoken to every known smith in all places...

Anonymous

How to marry Janine? I'v done everything i could and she is still saying "We cannot stop working yet, not until Yhilin is safe and happy.". No other interactions with her...

Ripe

Just noticed something... number of harem members on save screen and in Yarra's list don't match. After playing through latest content and adding Janine and Wynn number on save screen is 15. When you add up all the names that are "unlocked" on Yarra's harem list you get 17. Looking through my savefiles it appears that Riala and Iris are not counted as harem members for purpose of save screen.

sierralee

Your Yhilin acceptance score needs to be higher. Try funding petitions you missed before, or if all else fails giving money to the noble woman in the throne room.

sierralee

Dang, I messed up there. I think what I'll do is add a conditional that runs once to the "Sending a Message" scene. New saves will have their number increase at the appropriate time, old saves should repeat the scene to increase it. Thanks for the report!

Primeumaton

So the last time I played this, spoilers look away, was back when the last content was our lustlord being taken by the female lustlord when he removed that seed with his powers. Has there been a significant amount of story since then?

Decanter

That was what, version 0.9? There is over 3x as much content now.

DukeLeto7

Here's a very minor bit of a missing mouse question. Robin and Wynn took some items from the Zirantian tombs for further study, which were hanging out in Robin's lab in the Secret Tunnels through the start of the 3rd Arclent War. The conversation there indicated that they would be the subject of future study, but instead we have several completely new topics. Just wondering what happened to them.

sierralee

Ah, I didn't mean to imply that they would be the source of major avenues of future research. In fact, I included them partially because I wanted to have some elements that weren't heavily tied into bigger things - adds verisimilitude to have some research that is just a side project, or at least it does in my head. So to answer your question, they were studied in the mages' spare time, they helped provide a few interesting ideas and new spells, but they didn't play a huge role in anything.

Phil

So Janine's uncle was removed, but I kept the airship site guys. Does Trin's copying even play a role in the future? Also, is it intentional that all chapter 4 quests I found so far (plague bats, Rose district, succubus potions, Impaler in the wilds) don't show up in the quest log?

sierralee

Yes, it will. I didn't include those quests because they're all relatively short. I suppose I could be persuaded otherwise.

I'm looking forward to playing this update when my family isn't all down with a cold. Thanks, Sierra! Have you considered making simple posts about updates (and a quick description of the game itself) on reddit.com/r/LewdGames ? You might get some new players that way.

sierralee

I should probably do more with promotion on Reddit. Promotion is not really my thing, but thanks for the reminder! Anyway, hope your family gets better and you enjoy the update. ^-^

Looking through the game files, I've noticed that the Tak'Kan Wilds Horn description says it's 'The Impaler's trophy from a hunt'. However, it is still possible to manage to get the Horn having killed the Impaler (if you kill the Gargant Scorpion before reuniting with Orcent.)

sierralee

Hmm, true. I think I'll just make it impossible to get that outcome. Thanks!
