Hornet (Hollow Knight): Dress (WIP 1) (Patreon)

So this is dress was deceptively "simple".

Looking at the dress one would think it's a circle skirt just extended. but the truth is that it is nothing like that!! hahAt first I had made half a circle for the dress and I just needed to sew the horsehair on the hem to give it volume and... I was wrong.

The curves were all unregulated and messy, so researching a lot, I found that what I was trying to do had a name and it's called "panel ball gown/dress"! (living and learning because I didn't even know it existed haha) 🤯

Well, following the logic of what I understood, I invented the way to use two strips of boning material (the plastic one) and glued it to a piece of 3mm EVA also cut in a half a circle, then I kneaded the boning in the regions that I wanted them to be "inside" the dress, this forced the outside parts to have the curves I wanted, it was like an umbrella, can you understand? 😂

Anyway, so far the goal is working, I just need to organize the neck pleats better so that it connects correctly with the curves of the bar and so I can make the collar! 🧐
