More similar to WW1! 1910s earth but with Titans haha. Such a fun time period though. Very steampunk fantasy esque. Cannot wait to see you react to the rest of the season. It's gonna be a hell of a ride. Also the intro is safe. Feel free to enjoy the music and stunning visuals!

Information available for public disclosure: Eldian Armband These armbands are used to differentiate the Eldian "devils" from the other races. Eldians of higher classes may have armbands with different colors. Armband color can also vary depending on if the Eldian is in the military or a regular civilian. It is mandatory for Eldians in Marley to wear their armband when they go outside.

All of your feelings about Eldians are so valid and I love that you’re seeing the struggle of both sides. Definitely a lot of parallels to WWII. I’m with you, Reiner was so full of bull when he was talking about how horrible the “island devils” are haha. Watching you put it together that Zeke is Eren’s brother was so fun! I just saw your face change and that look of “HOLY CRAP” come into your eyes while it settled in. Such a twist, right? Who could’ve imagined that way back in season 2 when we first see him as the Beast? I hope you found your inhaler and can breathe again! 😂 Can’t wait for the next.

From now on post credit scenes become a bit more common. Also this op, until episode 16 is totally safe to watch. I was giggling wondering when you were going to clue in that the Beast Titan was Zeke! He got called Zeke even before the flashback to his childhood, and last episode too! Ymir's death is technically confirmed in the flashback when Historia is reading her letter, but it's a little harder to notice.

I really appreciate how you're able to sympathize with the Eldians living in Marley given their terrible living conditions, brainwashing/propaganda, and embracing Marley's terrible rule over them as their only realistic means of survival as they can always be listening in/spying and turning families into titan weapons upon any disobedience. I also was impressed with how you immediately had the inkling that Reiner wants to give the Armored Titan to Falco before he states so and how Reiner's speech at the dinner table was not his true thoughts. It was very clear how well you understood at the end when you learned Marley was listening in on the Warriors and thus Reiner has been acting a certain way as he was aware of that. I also wanted to elaborate on the dinner scene with Reiner as I think it's multi-layered nature is brilliant. Even small details like Gabi yelling “BOOM!” as she tells her heroic war effort is shown the scene after the Marley military officer yells “BOOM!” to make the Eldian soldiers with PTSD fall down - a clever juxtaposition to show the cycle of hate/propaganda is being passed down. As you noticed during the dinner scene, Reiner’s mentioning of Sasha sharing a potato during the entrance ceremony stood out. He opens his speech by calling everyone on the island a “savage and heartless devil,” yet the best example he could come up with was Sasha stealing and then offering to share a potato. He then proceeds to mentions actions and behaviors of those you’d find in friends all while the dramatic music is playing and slowly zooming in on his face. As the window shutters burst open at the end, it shows his Mom shocked as she just heard these supposed devils described as normal people. Right after Gabi asks, “what do you mean there were all sorts of people (not devils) there?” Reiner’s mom appropriately closes the shutters, symbolizing that way of thinking in Marley is like letting a storm into your house (and also making sure no one hears incase he says anything against the grain). It’s sad, especially since Reiner wants to talk about his experience on Paradis - Gabi even offers him an out, "even if it wasn't classified, it's stuff he wouldn't want to talk about" - yet he proceeds with his story. But, he can’t be honest about it as we know Marley can be listening in at any moment which would endanger his family (which is also why he seems to pridefully freak out at Falco’s remarks on the train, but all it is is a way to warn Falco to not think like that publicly). As a result, we get his imbalanced story about devils only to be backed by examples of normal human behaviors and traits of his friends. I think it's also fitting that Reiner looks older than he is/so worn out as the guilt he felt literally pushed him to develop a split personality while on Paradis. On top of that, the stress of wanting to protect the Warrior candidates from having a similar experience without the power to do so. Plus, imagine not being able to talk about your guilt and trauma with literally anyone in Marley as it could endanger your family. Can't wait for your reaction and thoughts on the next episode, it's definitely one of my personal favorites!

Okay. just finished catching up with your reactions. Started like 4 days ago. This show is incredible and I love your reactions and am super hyped for you. Also its nice to find someone else who cries in almost every single episode even though I've seen them all before.

So to catch you up on Ymir, she saw changed into a titan when very young and roamed for years as an Pure, so somewhat unconscious as just one of the run of the mill titans. Then Reiner's group invaded the island; Reiner, Bertholt, Annie, and a fourth member, Marcel, that was eaten by Ymir in her Pure titan form. Then Ymir wakes up a girl again...because she ate one of the 9, the member of Reiner's party that held the Jaw titan's powers. So when she went back with Reiner, most likely not even remotely trusted so they took back control of the Jaw titan by eating Ymir.

when i realized they had killed off ymir i literally rage quit the series for several months. thankfully i did go back and watch it but damn was i pissed off for awhile.

I was so mesmerized that you just put 2 and 2 together that the beast titan is Grisha's kid I missed his whole speech and had to rewatch lolol I forgot you never reacted to the times it was hinted at and revealed.
