Information available for public disclosure: The Colossal Titan's Steam A Titan's special powers are produced by using its own body as a resource. In that way, it is thought the steam emitted by the Colossal Titan consumes muscle tissue and therefore must be finite.

I don’t know if can say it’s my favorite arc but definitely is one of the best. I understand and love your reactions. Once you have finished the show, every time you hear AOT music, and remember these moments, you will realize how amazing is this show.

I know exactly how you feel Vee, Erwin is my favorite character from this series. The way he holds himself when he gives speeches, his charisma, his courage, his bravery and all around everything about him is amazing.

im ready to cry again with ya

How is this my favorite arc? Erwin's speech is a huge component. I'm not sure if William Wallace's speech will ever be topped (for me at least) but Erwin's is up there. I have a hard time imagining the courage it must have taken for those recruits to make that charge, even the ones crying as they rode forward.

Fun fact: That titan at 21:53 (19:56 in the show) is based on Mikasa's voice actress.

You’re not annoying, we love you. ♥️ And you’re right, this arc is absolutely heartbreaking and devastating. But through it we get to see the best come out in characters Iike Erwin. He’s said himself that he’s selfish and greedy, wanting only to find the truth and prove his father right. But here we see him sacrifice everything he lives for just to save humanity. It’s a moment that made me love him more than I thought possible. Such an incredible leader and man. 😭 It doesn’t matter how many times I watch this episode, I always cry my eyes out during Erwin’s final speech. It’s just so heartfelt and inspiring. I know you’re watching in sub but for this one scene, I highly recommend you go back and watch his speech in dub, starting from where he tells Levi he has to die. Many fans who love the sub have even said they prefer Erwin’s speech in dub, the voice actor killed it and it’s so emotional. I know it’ll just make you cry but I hope you do, it’s so so good. And I just feel for Levi in this episode, he doesn’t know if Hange’s alive and now he’s about to lose Erwin too! His best friends just gone. 😭 Okay I’ve rambled enough. If you didn’t cry during this episode I’d worry about you haha. Just know you’re among friends and we all cry over it, too! Loved your reaction!

Kel

I never knew that!!!! I can actually see it now that I know.

Kristine

Just when you think it couldn't get worse, the Armor Titan shows up XD When I first read this arc, I was so lost on how they'd get out of this situation. Like I actually couldn't believe in the end that I was reading a suicide mission led by Erwin. That one soldier's lament and Erwin's speech always makes me cry. "This is the sole method in which we can rebel against this cruel world." is what really gets me followed by "My Soldiers, Fight!"

first time watching dub for Erwins speech, I am bawling. next episode hype :'(

2023-12-23 05:16:55 There is one very simple rule why our favorites die. Bad guys will win and good guys will die, too. The reason our favorite characters die, characters that are the heart of the shows if you will, is for two reasons. 1, so other characters can grow. Basic, simple, i know you know this. 2, however, is for the audience; because too many people pass the buck to our heroes to take care of things. Its real world life lesson. There is a whole city of people, 3 walls worth, and those on the inner wall and the idiots on the throne were going to let everyone else starve and die so they can keep living in luxury and keep lying to themselves. Everyone, except what was left of the survey corp, was cool with letting it happen or expected someone else to do something about it. A lot like how we do things today. Most shows try to teach as well as entertain. Look at the shows 80 years ago and see the life lessons they were teaching then. Many of them are about the issues of the time and aren't very relevant today. Many of our favorite stories have characters dying so it motivates the other characters in doing something about it. But its also meant to motivate you the watcher/reader to do something in your world, even as little as growing along with the characters.

I still prefer the sub version but I'll say the dub actor did a fantastic job here.
