The "I am the danger" "I am the one who knocks" speech comes from a place of fear, the fear that Gus could easily kill him or his entire family which makes it 10x better imo. If you look at Walt's expression during that scene he looks as if he's trying to protect any bit of his fragile ego that's still left while also trying to hold on to that role of the protector, the head of the family. Aside from turning into Heisenberg I like to think the dark red shirt he reveals when he takes the light red shirt off is like a metaphor for the front he puts on

TGrimace

Oh man. I can't believe you talked over all of Walt's speech because you were loving the "I am the danger" line so much. You missed so much! It's an iconic speech that is simply amazing.

Oh yeah, tweakers love to dig. And pick at stuff and take things apart.

I don't think people who use meth have a particular affinity for digging holes or anything; I think Jesse's plan was that doing something weird and random would catch their interest. Even something as mundane as digging a hole can be a very interesting prospect lol. As for Skyler, she was never really planning to leave. She tried to comfort herself by deciding that she COULD leave if she wanted to. Her trip to the four corners was symbolic of her overwhelming need to escape...and yet, even when the coin lands in Colorado--fate tempting her get out, I guess you could say--she drags it back into New Mexico. Because she was never truly planning to go anywhere.

Vee...?🥺 will you please put up a pole soon to see if you should put ATLA in sometime soon whenever there is room and time for it? lol My most recent watch through with another reactor is wrapping up and I'd love to see you start the life changing journey that is avatar. <3 hahaha

I've been waiting for you to see this episode in particular since season one!!!!!!! You've been saying "walt is the danger" or inter placing lines of people when they mention danger with just the quote of "i am the danger" or "he is the danger" I can't believe how often you've said it. I've even commented "she said the thing!" a couple times, hoping you didn't catch on. lol

Dale Diaz

idk if you missed it vee but after the second coin flip she scooched the coin back to new mexico. she couldn't go through with it

Meth heads aren't obsessed with digging holes, they are just obsessive in general. They are like a chicken, when you go to peck something near buy, they all run over and peck it to see what it is. The curiosity, confusion, and OCD that comes with lack of sleep, and being zooted on a stimulant causes them to become very obsessive and compulsively do the thing. that's why they have wounds all over their body, because if they pick a scab or scratch or something, they just keep doing it and doing it until their body is covered in wounds.

Jonah Bertorelli

They're compulsive, reactive, dumb, and easily fooled is the most simple explanation of that whole scene. lol

Also meth is basically like ADHD meds cranked to the max. They're amphetamines, basically guaranteed to have all the side effects. Paranoia, insomnia, crawling sensation on the skin (that's what causes the picking and scabbyness), appetite suppresion, and hyperfocus. The reason jesse's hole plan worked did 2 things: he was playing on tucker's paranoia by making his brain race about what he's doing, what he's trying to get, and why it's in his yard. Then Jesse gives him a repetitive task so his hyperfocus will make him zone out. He could have given him a deck of cards, a bunch of boxes to fold, etc. If you don't have ADHD and you take adderall it's the same sort of thing, people are just so mentally amped and amphetamines increase your dopamine uptake which enhances your minds reward mechanism, so simple boring tasks are like DING did the thing HUGE FLOOD OF DOPAMINE. So you just keep doing it. This is why unmedicated ADHD people have a hard time doing things like chores and hygeine. Even if they want to do it, they can't will themselves to do it. The opposite of that is EVERYTHING you do gives you maximum reward, so anything you can easily repeat is like an attention vortex

Aww dang you were simping over his "I am the danger" line so much you joked and talked over all of his iconic speech and missed so much importance of what he had to say, one of the more iconic part of the series. Sometimes you let your memes get you way too distracted :/

Thursday is a funny way to write Saturday 😂

Skyler met Heisenberg for the first time here. I don't think the "I am the one who knocks" monologue was even meant to be as iconic as it became but it does show that he is actually dangerous and also just how much his alter ego has taken over.

John Rake

I agree with this lol. I love you VKunia, but you definitely talked right over an iconic scene.

David Cansler

Sorry but I'm using Bogdan's dollar to buy a coke...in front of him :)

You missed the part where when Skyler flipped the coin the 2nd time, she moved the coin back over to New Mexico with her foot, which shows that she wants to stay. Digging the hole part of the episode is mainly cause Meth tricks your brain into doing meaningless tasks/repeatable tasks without knowing why. You see someone doing something and you get super intrigued as to what it is, and you start wanting to do it for no reason. Meth heads will collect items like pens with colorful tips and just random things. All because they look interesting. They will literally pull the threads out of the carpet thinking there is something underneath it.
