Don’t apologize for going off! That’s what we love, is to hear your thoughts and theories. This episode was a wild one, wasn’t it? Besides the huge reveal that nobody saw coming, I think what hits me hardest is Eren’s complete betrayal over two of his close buddies being not only traitors, but the ones who directly caused the death of his mother and set all of this into motion. I felt the same way he did, as I’d really grown to love Reiner and see him as a big brother. It’s just heartbreaking to know they were the enemy all along. Such a great show though, yes? 😃 Thank you for not making us wait too long for this episode! I had a crappy day and really needed this so it was awesome to see it pop up. See you next time!

Oh man, I've not watched this reaction yet but I personally love the reveal in this episode because of how in the background and nonchalantly its just mentioned. Because its the main enemies, you expect a big reveal similar to Ymir but its just, "Hey, we're the big bad titans, nice to meet you!" Even in the manga, its in the tiniest speech bubble as the talk in the background! It's crazy, I can't wait to see this reaction after work

And here's the episode that made me start watching reactions! - You almost gave Ymir a funeral last episode! The first time I watched I had to spend a week wondering if she would survive because we didn't know how strong the titan healing power was. - In this and in episode 4, Berthold and Reiner say some stuff about being warriors and not soldier, and that's very similar to something Annie said when she got caught, so some watcher's were already a bit suspicious. But even for the people that got that right, the way it is revealed is so outrageous I don't think anyone expected that. - A small detail if you go back is that when Berthold is in the tower surround by titans and the tower is about to fall you can see Berthold was reaching to bite his hand before Ymir saved them. In fact there is a lot of nuance you can pick up from rewatching this show.

The dub made a huge error in this episode. Around 07:30 Reiner refers to the female titan as Annie but at this point nobody told him that they all know Annie is the female titan. Meaning he blew his cover and it makes no sense that nobody reacts to him calling the female titan Annie, which he is not supposed to know. I know changes in dialogue are needed to lip sync and stuff like that but this big of an error should not have slipped in. This alongside the titans sounding like Digimon in dub and Yuki Kaji's amazing performance is why the original audio is the best. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Yesterday, I was watching a season 3 episode in dub. Fine, serviceable I thought or good enough. Until the very, very end, when one particular character says one thing. In Japanese is one thing, but you know how in English in anime in general they like to embellish the dialogue, making the characters say things they do not in the original. So, this one character says something different than the original, but the translators did not know where Isayama was going, or they didn't get the hints, so the dub ends up being hilariously out of character for what we learn of the character later on. It's episode 3x14, the very end of the episode in dub, for those that are caught up, I thought it was pretty funny. But yeah, that's why I avoid dubs in general, very few actually want to just translate. But I was soured on them since Dragonball era, and how they butchered that anime, and made Goku something he was not.

As long as you enjoy the show, V, any way you like to watch it we'll support it. Any issues of mistranslations yeah, it's the fault of the subtitles on Crunchyroll. They are notorious for inadequate, lazy, "creative" subtitles. Other subtitles from other sources actually do take greater care to accurately translate the author's intentions, which as I pointed out before is requisite to avoid issues of mischaracterization. Because I was ahead of the story reading the manga I did realize that Crunchyroll often has issues with their subtitles. The worst offender was in an episode of Chainsaw Man, I won't say what episode or what character, those caught up with the manga can google it, but the one line was EXTREMELY important to the climax of the story, now referred to as Part 1. In the subtitles, Crunchyroll had the completely opposite meaning as a translation, which would not have worked at all with the punchline of the end. It was one line many of us were anticipating, and they completely butchered it, so even watching it subtitled ruined it for us. Apparently, Amazon Prime always had the correct subtitles for that one line, those watching it there did not suffer the hilarious mistranslation. The backlash against Crunchyroll for that one line made them change it pretty quick though, but again, that was an example of translators taking liberties that were not theirs to make. Somewhere though, Yuki Kaji, Daisuke Ono, Hiroshi Kamiya, Satomi Ishihara, Marina Inoue and ESPECIALLY Hiroshi Tsuchida are all just 😢 and 😭..... 😂

Watch this show in however way it makes you comfortable. The only thing I’ll say is that in season 4, the English dub re-writes and re-contextualizes way too much and much worse than the subtitles do. Consistently I’ve seen many reactors watching season 4 in English misunderstand or get confused about important story points or character motivations and then be confused as to what’s happening or not correctly understanding why a character is doing something. Just wanted to put that out there, but either way, what’s most important is for you enjoy the show in the way that’s best for you

I was so mad at Reiner and Bertholt after this episode. And sad for Connie.

Go back to the first 10 episodes of this show, and you will find Annie, Reiner, and Bertholt always near each other. Hell, go watch episode 4. In the top 10 of the 104th cadets, 4-2 are Annie, Reiner, and Bertholt! In other words, Iziyama was always hinting on those three the whole time!

This episode didn't get put into the playlist and I could NOT UNDERSTAND how you were starting the next episode (I thought was this one) knowing that Beartholt and Reiner were the titans. I was like, WE HAVEN'T LEARNED THIS!!!! going insane, I even looked up the episode that reveals it and had the scene spoiled because I couldn't for the life of me figure out when and where you learned that and where I could have missed it so I looked it up :/ lol big oof.
