Here’s a weird fact… The English dub is the official dub of the movie. The Japanese dub came later on the DVD release and only in Japan. The film was made for an English dub, screened in Japanese theaters with the English dub and Japanese subtitles and purists in Japan consider the English dub to be better and the only one to listen to. Personally I don’t care how anyone watches their anime but it’s fascinating that such a classic like this is meant has the English dub as the official “correct” version.

Also Layla is the same actress who plays Bobby on King of the Hill. The cast is so good and prolific in animation and gaming.

Just finished the reaction with you - you made me cry, Vee lmao Honestly, the whole history of this movie is crazy. They wanted to make this with a top class American dub and tried to market it in the US like this, it basically bombed (right before the cusp of anime properly taking off in the USA) and the demo dub basically became the original dub. It's an nearly forgotten gem that came out just at the wrong time.

It's crazy to me that within the anime community, not many people have seen this. Most underrated anime of all time.

Thank you so much for watching the english version. The movie was originally made in english and they hired an all star cast for it. The Japense voiced version is technically the dub, and the captions were put in at last minute. It is rare that the english version is superior, and that is the very case here.
