"I love that Levi really cares..." So happy you gave him props. In his very first appearance Levi went out of his way to comfort a dying member of his squad, got "dirty" -which he hates- with blood and went on to give an evocative, passionate, and effusive speech about honoring the sacrifice of his fallen comrades, that their lives will have meaning and will give Levi the strength to go on and fight and defeat the Titans. And Levi did said all that in order to comfort the dying soldier. Sometimes you have reactors that dismiss the subtle hints of depth to Levi's character by focusing on the "badassery" and "coolness" of his skills, or that Levi is just an aloof and detached hero tough guy. Not many comment on how Levi cares for his underlings and he hates to see them sacrifice their lives and die for the cause, and what that is going to entail. Levi may be a cold dude, but he cares about his own humanity too. Strongly recommend you check out the OVAs/OADs after the first season is over, almost no one reacts to those, one of 'em a light hearted one you will enjoy. They are on Crunchyroll now I believe. Ilse's Notebook was part of the manga and came out right after the fight for Trost arc. Levi's two-part No Regrets episodes. Sudden Visitor and Distress are just for fun. So that would be 5 episodes that came out after season 1 and before the four year wait for season 2. At the very least you should watch Ilse's Notebook, and No Regrets is just too good to miss it. Lost Girls' three episodes are to be seen after season 3.

Seconding the suggestion that V watches the OVAs—No Regrets at the very least. I also agree with everything you said about Levi up there. It’s the contrast of his absolute compassion for humanity and his ability to shut off emotion and be cold when he needs to that makes him such a fascinating character to me. I liked him before, but after watching No Regrets he shot way up to the top of my favorite characters list.

Don’t feel bad, when I first watched this episode I thought it had to do with electricity/metal as well because of the spoon. The reality of it being due to a specific goal in mind was harder for me to grasp. And YESSSSS you got to see Erwin’s genius in action finally! I’m so happy you were impressed and excited by the trap he set! That man always has something up his sleeve. Also I won’t comment either way about your theory regarding the Female Titan since I don’t know how far ahead you’ve watched, but I do want to tell you not to be embarrassed about wild theories! Especially with this show, you really can’t go wrong because it’s so crazy haha. I mean, my theory when I first saw this was that she was Armin’s mom and that’s why she let him live. I was sure of it. No theory is too weird! Just have fun trying to figure things out, that’s the joy in a series like this. This was just what I needed after a long day at work. Thanks for making me smile today! 😊

Girl this show is off the chains LOL and you know I'm always predicting.. and getting stuff wrong but with this show, it definitely feels like no theory is too weird! and I'm only ahead as I am on patreon so! MAYYBE sometimes 1 episode ahead because of scheduling but that's about it I'm glad i was able to make your day :)
