That ending is filmed so well, the way they jump back and forth in time is really impressive and moving. Also I think it's implied that Brasso was the one who tied up the dropship, sort of anchoring it to something heavy which caused the crash. They show Brasso walking away from the ship and then looking back at it for a split second like he did something. I think.

Also fun fact stellan skarsgård was also the bad guy in Dune

I love that you're watching this! Dark and gritty and some of the best Star Wars being produced.

Now that Kassa's left his home planet of Kenari in the flashbacks, I wanted to mention that from the clues of the kids living alone by the river side, no one over 18-20 years old present, the mine Kassa walked past, the mention of Kenari being the site of a mining disaster where everyone died, that it implies all of their parents and the adults worked in that mine and died in the disaster. That's the pretty much confirmed theory, maybe confirmed by the writers in interviews, I can't remember. So that's why there were no adults. One wonders how long it's been since the teens and kids started fending for themselves. It's very interesting to note that back then was before The Empire, that the ship which crashed on Kenari was a republic ship, and the republic freighter that was approaching to investigate, the good guys essentially, were the ones who Maarva assumed were going to kill the teenage inhabitants of this planet. Shows that Star Wars isn't always black and white, and the republic the Jedi worked for, like most government also did evil things, also possibly from their point of view they were the good guys and assumed the ship was shot down by those kids or something, I dunno. The truth is always blinded by complication, assumptions, lies.

Fun fact: You talk about the immersion with the set. I'm pretty sure most of this show is done with practical effects unlike Kenobi or Mandalorian.

While a good portion of the city of Ferrix was built, the rest was CGI greenscreen backgrounds on Ferrix. Basically the same at Kenobi and Mando except it's not the volume, just traditional background replacement. They gained the immersion of the city to to a certain height, but lost the actors immersion of being able to look at the finished visual effects of ships and large CGI structures on set.

I absolutely love the way you described all of this. It was clear and concise and made so much sense - pointing out the connections and possible theories is one of my favorite things so thank you for bringing them to light for me (you know I'd just end up questioning myself into oblivion LOL) both things are incredibly sad to think and really adds a new layer of depth to this show. Just makes me enjoy it that much more. :)

Super interesting!!! Thank you for explaining it, is it like this for the rest of the season as well??
