I... loved... this movie...... SO.... MUCH. This has to absolutely be one of my favorite movies I've ever watched - it keeps you hype all the way through, it is JUST AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL (WITH MY FAVORITE PLANE EVER BASICALLY BEING IN THE SPOTLIGHT THE ENTIRE TIME)

This movie was so freaking good and so much fun to watch. It tied up every story, every loose end, had all the comedy, the sadness, the edge-of-your-seat drama/action, beautiful visual as well as acting that you could ask for... all while keeping its authenticity

I loved it so much. I just want more. I wish there would be more 🥺🥺

Vee, 90% of this film was all real flying. They had Blue Angles pilots for these planes and Tom Cruise and the supporting cast sat in back seats saying their lines made to look like they were flying. f you get the time, here is video of one of the Blue Angels pilots talking about how they did it all. ITs time stamped for you. Also Valk Kilmer had real throat cancer during this movie and he couldnt actually talk, but yeah it looked like real flying because well, it is. Funny thing, I just delivered an UberEats order to one of the people at the gate at Miramar Air Base for the first time last week. Unfortunately, that's not where Top Gun pilots are actually trained anymore, now I've heard it's at a base in Nevada, but it still felt pretty cool as a person who grew up here. I watched some Blue Angels pilots fly around at an airshow last October, parked along a nearby road with a lot of people, but I haven't really been AT the base since I was a kid.

Fun fact: I was in the Navy on an aircraft carrier in the early 2000's (CV-64). It was the last cruise the F-14 was on. It was in 2003. I loved listening to all your aircraft knowledge!!!!! And that's also Tom's personal P-51 Mustang

you might like the mission impossible movies, they are corny action but a good sit down and just watch films.

It is not entirely without reason that neither in 'Top Gun', nor in 'Top Gun: Maverick' is an enemy country mentioned. It makes the movies age less quickly. However, you can rule out both times that it's the Soviet Union or Russia, since the movies don't continue with World War 3 in each case. Assuming today's conditions, the target here is Iran, since this is the only country that still has F-14s in service today. If anyone wonders how Iran got these planes, they were sold there before the Islamic Revolution. Also, with regard to an illegal nuclear program, only North Korea, Iran, and a handful of other states would be considered.

Vee, loved the commentary, also with how much you love the F/A-18 I'm surprised you haven't gotten into DCS (Digital Combat Simulator)! If you're not familiar, it's a super high fidelity combat flight simulator. Many planes are available including your beloved F/A-18. The planes have every real control, button, dial, etc and are modeled to a tee. You'd probably LOVE it and go bananas.

Of course can't help but love the Super sexy F-18 fighter Jet. Among the most beautiful ever fighting Jets of All time, besides the F22...etc. but matter of taste of course. Yea DCS game is the best of best fight jet simulations out there, i play "Falcon BMS" which have a lot of F18 F16 F14 F22 F35 Planes and Cockpits for free... But both games require weeks and months of getting decent, so its not a game you just hop in and be succesfull instantly

Hangman, Coyote, and Payback made those faces when Maverick showed up to teach them because they were the ones to carry Maverick out of the bar the night before! It was more of an 'Oh Shit' look!

It’s definitely not Russia because it’s a nation that has no previous nuclear program. it’s some fictional nation so it can sell everywhere.
