Hey everyone!! So here is film 2 of SPOOKTOBER; The Evil Dead! I really did not expect so much gore in an hour and a half long movie or the fact that YOU GUYS WOULD PICK IT FOR ME KNOWING I HATE GORE LMAO

Either way, I forgive you guys and if gave me a different perspective when it came to types of gore and quality, also my first time watching a "Splatter" movie so theres another first LOL

I hope you guys enjoy my disgusted reactions and bad jokes all throughout:) have a great day friends 💓

you should have done "Evil Dead 2" which is more camp

How about Horror/comedy movies like Return of the living dead 2 from 1985, it’s on HBO now, or Peter Jackson’s Dead alive?

tom

I really enjoyed your reaction 😃 but please watch number 2 at some point; it's kinda a remake but a lot of different stuff happens and it is a genuine cinematic masterpiece, Sam Raimi's directing and Bruce Campbell's acting are on another level in number 2 ❤

Sam Raimi did mellow and direct the first two Spiderman films back in the day. If you thought this one had a lot of blood, you should check out Peter Jackson's first films, long before the Lord of the Rings trilogy. His films Bad Taste and Dead/Alive literally have gallons of it. Your are a trooper for putting up with some of our picks. 😁

Oh a lot to watch, so night shift is the order of the day. 😎 I'm really curious, how your reaction will be to the different movies and episodes. Here we go. 😊 According to Evil Dead ... I mentioned that there will be an 'insignificant' amount of gore in. 😂 (at least analogously) Now after watching your reaction: First of all, the most important thing: your Spooktober dress is marvellous 😊 and also your necklace! Both go very well together, really nice. 😄 Also, I hope you won't have any nightmares. 😟 Your reaction is wonderful and I appreciate that you watched the film although you hate gore. I have to admit, that of course I knew it and still voted for the movie. 🤗 Now let's talk about the film - You're absolutely right that in a lot of movies gore is just used to evoke disgust instead of fear and often in a cheap way. But here I think it is rather different. Of course it's gross but not in the first place. I think it's more to show that the undead are between the living and the dead. Also in some scenes there is such an unrealiastic amount of it, that it's more funny than disgusting. 😉 You mentioned mask and makeup in this film and both are incredible, especially when you know that they barely had any money and produced the film in utterly poor conditions (living in the cabin, eating the cheapest food and so on). All in all the movie costed 375.000 $ then (according to Sam Raimi), which are 1.1 million today. So you can see absolutely low budget, but the result is really worth seeing. Last but not least, the camera movements, the filming, music, noises and tones are great and I think many later films have adopted a lot of these effects. Likewise, that one never sees 'The Evil' and yet always knows that it is there is absolutely outstanding. Well, if you decide (at some point) to watch the other parts as well, you know what you will have to expect, although these are rather funny and satirical than horrifying, especially Army of Darkness. 😊😊😊

Now I see how you were able to stay up all night to release so many videos the next day. 😁

Yay!!! I was one of the ones recommended evil dead and I think the reaction was great!!!

Awww, too bad you didn't just do "Evil Dead 2" instead - it is basically the same movie, but in more of a horror/comedy vein that establishes the style of the rest of the series ("Army of Darkness" and the "Ash vs Evil Dead" TV series).

Thomas Yanez

"She's going to die first!" "She's going to get linebackered!" 'She's going to get killed!" ... Didn't predict the rapey tree, did ya? 100%.

I am so delightfully impressed at your film reading skillz, lol. The main reason I started watching with you is from how well you understood the Lord of the Rings films from a first watch through. Bruce Campbell (Ash) and Sam Raimi (director) are the bestest of friends, lol. So much so that Bruce is in a lot of Sam's films, along with Sam's brother, Ted. In the earlier films of Sam's, Ted is inside the monster costumes. Bruce Campbell was a stuntman by trade. This was his first film role. He really uses his stuntman skills in the later films of his career and this series of films and TV. I love seeing stunt people become movie stars, like the Jackass guys and Zoe Bell in Quentin's film Deathproof.

"Axe girlfriend". Ok, I laughed at that one, but I didn't want to.

Tiger Chu

Don't blame me. I voted for something else

Thomas Yanez

It's weird. Raimi claims that "Evil Dead 2" is a sequel, continuing Ash's story and the book and the demons. But, if you watch it, you'll see it is more like a remake, and a different feel. They made it much more slapstick and end on a cliffhanger that leads you to "Army of Darkness" which is a real, proper movie with a decent budget and everything. Far less gore for the sake of gore, an actual adventure story. The TV series carries on after the events of "Army of Darkness" with emphasis on ridiculous, over-the-top gore, campy comedy and a wtf-is-going-on story.

Vicki, from now on I'll warn you if people are trying to lead you down a path you don't want to follow. Obviously you can still take that path, but at least you'll be forewarned before you take that first step.

David RedEagle

Watch 2 and then Army of Darkness. Both are fun and Bruce Campbell are great. Who FYI has a cameo in the 2013 Evil Dead remake which was just fun. PS: hello to your cat.

Vicki, if you’re not a fan of this one, I’d skip number 2 and go straight for 3. Hand on my heart, it’s not as splattery, but funny as f@§! Also, the “Ash vs The Evil Dead” series is based on “Army of Darkness” rather than this film (though Army of Darkness is a sequel to this, you’ll understand once you’ve seen it.

When I was in high school a couple of friends and I had the notion to watch this movie (on VHS, pre-DVDs). We had all seen it before but it had been a while. So, we went to one of the video stores in town. They didn't have it. Their copy was missing from the shelves. We went to another store. Their copy was broken. We kept traveling to every video store we could think of in four cities across two counties. Not one of them had a working copy. Stolen, broken, missing, etc. It wasn't even around Halloween time. It was summer. Apparently we were not meant to watch it. It was a bit eerie. But, at least we did get to stop by Krispy Kreme during the adventure.

The Only Thing I want to know is, Vicki What Were You wearing??? Some evil Sorceress Costume that you plan to wear for Halloween??? P.S. also whats your obsession with "Cotton Eye Joe" Seriously ??????

Thomas Williamson

"Evil Dead" was made on a budget of, basically, pocket change ($90,000). Nobody really had much experience and they just kind of threw things at the wall (and the actors) to see what stuck. They knew that the only entertaining thing they could really do on that budget was throw buckets of blood around, so... that's what they did. Favorite BTS story: They got the developed film back from the previous week's shooting, and there was one aerial shot where the camera just ran and ran for 10 minutes after the scene was over. Director Sam Raimi had been up in the construction lift operating the camera, and had fallen asleep while the actors were doing the scene! Great moments in on the job training.

A spooktober tradition! Next year EVIL DEAD 2
