Then have a nice time and hopefully your bestfriend's bachelorette will be as fine as your reactions always are. 😊🙋‍♂️

From my point of view, the most important revelation in this episode is: Inara has chosen to be on the ship. It wasn't clear until now, but she could, at any point in time, chose from dozents of high profile businessmen and high-ups to stay with. The initial reasoning for her to be on the ship was that it would offer her better business. She doesnt need that...

If you look at the labels River was tearing up, they all had a logo we’ve been seeing in the background. Blue Sun. And Jayne has a shirt with that on it as well. Wonder what she’ll do to that? I think this episode was all about misfits, Inara doesn’t fit in Mal’s world, Mal doesn’t fit in hers, River and Simon don’t really fit anywhere and Kaylee starts off not fitting in but manages to find a niche for herself.

I told you on Twitch that I couldn't wait to see your reaction to ep4, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Can't wait to see your reaction to ep5...

"I'm calling it right now that by the end of the season they will be together." It's kind of hard to call a thing for the end of the season when the end of the season never happened. You have to remember that in those days American network TV shows usually had 22 or more episodes. This one was cancelled before they were even finished writing all the episodes for the first season. Even with the movie "Serenity" they didn't get to tell all of the story Joss had planned for the first season, let alone the slow-burn he expected to drag out over multiple seasons. After his success with "Buffy" and "Angel", and the seemingly obvious quality of "Firefly", it was reasonable to expect that there would be multiple seasons. Then Fox said "nope".
