Have you seen the anime film Steamboy (2004)? It has an amazing English Dub cast and is one that I'd recommend watching dubbed.

I'd like to suggest Metropolis (2001)

Apologies for the long comment that is incoming. 🙇‍♂️ Back when I was young and just getting into Anime there was a 4 part OVA series that I think is really fucking good (there is a movie version of it but it's poo). Though watching it for some might be a little on the difficult side. It's called Macross Plus and is based in the Robotech universe. It was directed by Shinichirō Watanabe who went on to direct Cowboy Bebop. Music was also Yoko Kanno who did music for Cowboy Bebop. Bebop and Macross are like spiritual siblings to me as they have a similar vibe. The only problem is, due to a stupidly long story about licensing and dubbing in the 90's, the Blu-Ray version has 3 Episodes dubbed by 1 group, and the 4th episode is a whole set of different actors. The DVD version didn't have this. And I know this whole things is getting way to arduos and stupid. Probably easier to do it in Japanese. But this was one of earliest voice performances by Brian Cranston as the main protaganist. Though he went by a fake name Lee Stone. Either way, the show is amazing. Also this is another series, but WAY easier. The Kids on the Slope. Also directed by Shinichirō Watanabe with music by Yoko Kanno (I think there is a fucking trend here holy shit). It's only 12 Eps. Watch it in Japanese. Done. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I *really* think you should try out Maquia. For me, the first time I saw it was a surprise find in the entertainment system on a transatlantic flight. Fortunately, it got a theatrical release in Norway later. Very limited, but enough so I got to watch it properly.

Argh. How do you insert paragraphs when typing on a tablet? Shift doesn't work. Anyway, I also suggest A Silent Voice. Another thoughtful movie.

On my desktop, I type them out on a basic-text or Post-It app, and then cut and paste. Like this: “O-KAY, if we get our stupid freakin’ Satoshi-Kon-makes-no-sense Millennium Actress out of the darn way, THEN can we vote for Princess Kaguya, before going on to Beautiful Dreamer??”

(Steamboy AND Metropolis? Hoo-boy...The Ebert List is not dead.) ;)

She already did a reaction on Silent Voice in her old channel. She may re-upload it but who knows

One anime film that i think falls under a lot of folks radar...Metropolis

I don't see it yet. It's possible that I subconsciously remembered noticing it on your old channel, but hadn't gotten around to watching it yet when it was taken down. Anyway, maybe be careful about uploading videos from a channel that was taken down, even if it was not one of the videos that you got strikes against?

!!! First time on this poll I'm ever hearing of it WHAAAA Thank you for the recommendation Axis!! :)

Yes from 2001 and directed by Rintaro. It is a really good movie and its Artstyle is fantastic. It is based on a Manga from the one and only Osamu Tezuka! :-) The movie impresses me deeply each time im watching it. :-)

AnTonio

Yeees Macross Plus is fantastic and i really hope that they release here in the west all the OVA's on Blu ray. The japanes disc is already sold out :-(

Eric Janssen

I don't remember much about Metropolis, except that it THOUGHT it was trying to be a version of the Fritz Lang silent, and...wasn't. Rintaro tends to be a bit odd, which impressed arthouse moviegoers during the "Ebert List" early-00's.
