I like the coffee mug metaphor for how well Jimmy fits with Davis and Main.

Tim Martin

…so it looks like Jimmy is gonna get after Cliff Main with a tire iron 😂

Is there a schedule for days of the week BCS is planned to release going forward? It used to be Tuesdays & Fridays but no more?

MertzRocks

I think getting sick a little while back threw her off / got her a little discombob-view-lated. I'm just keeping my eyes open for these reactions, but I am curious if it will go back to the old schedule as well.

You see Davis & Main went with the TV commercial idea. But they just didn't want Jimmy's commercial. They thought that was beneath them. They're uptight snobs, and Jimmy's a man of the people. And that's literally why they hired him, because he's good with the old folks. Then they shit on him for doing his job well.

Dale Diaz

vicky i'm so glad you don't work a corporate job lol. You'd be the perfect sucker making tens of thousands of dollars a year less than you should because employers always take advantage of loyalty. Corporate jobs SUCK. I would know xD

vkunia

Yes it will go back to same schedule :) It might change to Tuesdays and Thursdays but I’ll keep you guys informed!

Christophe Schannes

Yes I also see it as the answer to the switch scene in the season premiere. At that point, he was still willing to play by the rules. But now, he's done, he's gonna do it his way.

Christophe Schannes

Wow, that's certainly a take xD I don't know if I would go quite that far. Yes, Davis & Main are "uptight snobs" if you want to label them like that but that's also what a lot of people want from a law firm, it's like Cliff said, they have a certain reputation to uphold with clients other than Sandpiper who wouldn't like the image associated with Jimmy. It might be annoying that people feel that way, but I do think it is just smart PR. And Jimmy didn't just "do his job" there, it certainly was over the top to take that initiative quite that far without talking about it with the partners. You can't just make a commercial for the firm that you're just an employee at without talking about it with your bosses xD Of course, their new commercial is pretty bad, sure it's "professional" but also extremely boring. They could probably have found a middle road there, something more interesting and engaging that doesn't go quite as hard into the emotional-manipulation-infomercial route like Jimmy's did. On the other hand, they probably scrambled to make that new commercial because Jimmy had kind of committed them down that road now with their Sandpiper clients so they just reused the old design they had from the last time around. If Jimmy had sat down with the partners and talked about it, they probably could have found a compromise on how the commercial looked in the end.

I don't know if Kim really feels a lot of loyalty towards HHM, I don't think that's what's holding her back from accepting the offer from Rich Schweikart. There might be a bit of that, I mean it's probably more that any big life change like that takes some consideration. She's worked there for 10 years so she's gotten used to the place, made friends, this has been her life for a while now. But I don't think it's "loyalty" to HHM or Howard or something that is holding her back, just that it would mean a lot of change. But I think the main thing that's troubling her is that she's not so sure that that offer from Rich actually is what she wants from life. It's what life tells her to want but she can see how much more fun she's having with Jimmy pulling these cons and she's just wondering how that aspect of her life, where she's more free to do as she likes, could possibly fit into yet another corporate job at a big law firm. She didn't really take up her job at HHM because she'd always dreamed about being a corporate lawyer, she did it because with them paying her way through law school while she worked in the mail room, it was just what you do. So it wasn't really a choice for her, or at least it didn't feel like that, it was just something she needed to do at the start of her career. And she probably didn't have a lot of options since she needed to pay back her debt somehow. But now, that job offer from Schweikart, taking that on, that actually would be a choice, it would be committing herself to that route of a corporate lawyer in a way that she hadn't really thought about before, or at least not for a while. We all get comfortable in our routines once they're established and sometimes it takes some external shake-up to really make you question if that actually is what you want for the rest of your life.

Kim needs to take the new job. I've made the mistake before thinking a company cares for and I "need" to be loyal for them. But, if there is a better opportunity you should go for it!

I guess Jimmy and Kim are kind of in the same boat. Jimmy can't fit in at Davis & Main and Kim is being trampled on at HHM. Jimmy just needs to be somewhere where he can be himself for better or worse. Kim isn't going to be able to live up to her potential under Hamlin, especially with the way he's treating her right now. It is easy to see here how Mike is a fan favorite. When all is said and done he keeps his word. He comes off as a badass but deep down he still can get nervous just like anybody else. Love the fact that we got Hector and the twins in the show. Things can only continue to heat up from here.

Christophe Schannes

Personally, I would have been fine if they had found an excuse to not bring the twins in. They were good villains in Breaking Bad because they're so menacing but there was a reason they were pretty short-lived in the original run. They're just not interesting characters and actually don't really make sense as characters if you explore them for any sort of length. Menacing stares and silence can only get you so far and their whole shtick wears of pretty fast in my opinion and because of that, they're probably my least favorite characters in this show. There's just nothing there, they're dumb, meaningless, over-the-top villains.

jeremykg14

They aren't nowhere near as interesting as the other villains but at the same time, I don't think they were supposed to be. I would almost argue that Tuco was just as one note but he served his purpose too. At the end of the day they were just another part of Hector's bloodline and he raised them to be that way.
