Weekly Devlog: 25 - 31 December 2023 (Patreon)

Hello Patrons! It's officially the last devlog for 2023 and I hope you're having a wonderful new Year's Eve 🎉

The last week of December was used for updating the demo for the different tiers and working to complete both October and November's side stories. December's side story polls were posted last week, so I'll be tackling them in the next few days of the new year.

As of now, the plan is to post the demo for the public tomorrow and once that's done, I'll complete December's side stories and start work on Chapter 9. I return back to my real life job on the 8th of January, so I'm trying to squeeze out as much writing as I can before I have to return to writing in the evenings.

Because I've only got the December side stories to complete, I won't be pausing billing for January 2024. Chapter 9 is not going to be an overly complicated chapter nor will it be very branchy (apart from the dialogues - urgh), so I don't think it'll take me too long to write it. That said, I'll likely do smaller updates like I did for Chapter 8 so it doesn't go too long without any new scenes to play.

I've also decided to change the benefits for tiers like I mentioned in a previous devlog. Instead of Patrons of tiers only going up to a certain chapter in the demo, you will all get to play the full game (at least the draft version) before it's released on Steam and itch.io. The only thing that will be different is when the tiers get to play the updated version of the game which will be as follows:

• Ishari Tier: Demo updated as soon as it's ready;
• Vinia Tier: Demo updated three (3) days after Ishari Tier;
• Cyre Tier: Demo updated five (5) days after Vinia Tier; and
• Nomad Tier: Demo updated seven (7) days after Cyre Tier.

Hopefully this way, everyone will be able to get the new content without having to break the bank - especially if you can't afford the higher-end tiers available. The side stories and sneak-peeks will still be available throughout - I will communicate if there's a delay if it arises.
