Progress Report - October 2, 2023 (Patreon)

Hello, everyone!

As you all know, the Chloe/Max Minivid was finally released onto early access yesterday, and will be going public / 2160p this upcoming Thursday. I pretty exhaustively addressed it in its release post, so I will leave it as an exercise to the reader.

Earlier last week, I made a public Tweet about the future plans for the Frozen on-stream project. The TLDR of that tweet is that we're going to finish out the story as planned, get the audio recorded and installed, and then call it a day - it won't get the usual polish and high-quality final render that I go for, instead releasing in the raw state of the existing WIPs but with full audio and being story-complete.

We have a handful of streams left until we get to the point where it's time for audio to be recorded, which means that it's time to start looking into future on-stream projects. I've been motivating the on-stream regulars to offer ideas, but so far no one's stepped up to the plate. And so I've been mulling over it myself.

What I eventually came up with is a project that, like most all my projects it seems, is uniquely ambitious. Where the Frozen project's ambition was in its sheer scale, this project's ambition is in its thesis:

"What if one of my usual stories, but interactive?"

That led to me writing out and designing this Life is Strange story, of an insecure Max trying to convince Chloe that she can compare to the debauchery that Rachel got up to in Chloe's reminiscence. Or, put another way, Chloe tells Max about how slutty Rachel was, and Max wants to prove to Chloe that she can be slutty, too.

What makes this project uniquely ambitious is that, while the story is fixed, the actual sex scenes themselves are chosen by the viewer. This plays out in a simple A/B choice presented to the viewer at several points, and results in a unique story tailored to best fit the viewer's personal interests.

Toward this end, I've put together this high-level storyboard, showing the general flow of the story as well as the A/B choices. I have also put together an interactive storyboard which shows a small snippet of this, showing what the writing and pacing would be like for the non-sex sequences.

For the sex sequences, I elected to not pose them out in any detail, instead representing them with a single pose while collecting a series of gifs and establishing a progression between them. As of right now, the goal is for each sex sequence to consist of seven main animations.

The reason why I decided to not pose them all, is that the posing and animating of the sex sequences is the fun part of the stream, and I want to keep it a surprise and figure it all out together. Having fun is the point of the stream, after all.

So far, I am quite pleased with both the story and the sex scenes as I have them planned out.

However, I am not quite ready to pitch this to my Twitter or the general stream regulars yet, because I decided last-minute that I think it'd make more sense for the Chloe/Rachel sequences to also be A/B choices, rather than just the Chloe/Max sequences. I need to figure out what the alternatives to the public sex and toy-throating sequences should be, still. I'm open to any suggestions there.

My ideas for this story actually go a fair ways beyond what all is shown here, but I figured that this is more than enough to pitch the idea. If people don't like the core idea, then there's no point in me writing the whole idea out right now, if it's just going to get put on ice indefinitely anyways.

And if people do like the idea, and we decide to go through with it, then just the first choice and the public-sex scene itself already gives us a whopping 21 animations to build. That'd keep us busy for a plenty few weeks, giving me enough time to gradually extend to story out if necessary (and that isn't strictly-speaking necessary; we could split this into an anthology if we so desired).

Again, you all voted for me to keep my SFW and NSFW stuff separately, and so this will be the last post I make about the SFW stuff here. I may make the occasional note of "I did some SFW stuff" on Monday progress reports with a quick link, but I won't expound on it in any detail like I do my NSFW stuff here.

My plans for this week are to figure out those alternative Chloe/Rachel sequences, and make progress on Overbreed.
