I apologize for it taking so damn long to get this video out. It's been 3 months since production began, and it was more or less immediately beset with technical problems and scheduling issues.

By far the biggest issues were the fact that, whilst the video was early in production, my mum needed emergency triple-bypass heart surgery, and due to my dad's work schedule I needed to be there to help her around the house as she recovered. You'd be amazed just how much you engage your ribcage - pretty much anything involving your arms pivots off your sternum, due to how your muscles attach to your skeleton. And for those that don't know, triple-bypass heart surgery involves literally splitting your sternum in half. So yeah. That's a bit of a traumatic injury that is slow to heal, and you need a lot of help around the house while the sternum heals itself from it.

On top of that, one of my voice talents was having complications with family and scheduling too. Thankfully it wasn't a family emergency, just family obligations. Voice talent are people too, after all, and we all have complicated lives outside our work. And it just so happened that, for most of this video's prolonged development cycle, for one my voice talent that translated to just not having the time to record in anything other than short bursts.

Then throw in the fact that my sound designer had his sister sprung on him that she was abruptly moving across the state, and she needed his help in packing, hauling, unloading, and installing her stuff, which took up a solid week in total. And then, because this project apparently had just the worst luck, Tropical Storm Ophelia ripped through right as they were finished with that, stranding them both without power for a few days. So yeah, in total about 10 days of work were ripped away from my sound designer with all that.

We won't even get into the fact that my sound designer wrote a full track for the piece, then decided to channel his inner Angelina Jolie and wake up one morning and decide he hated everything, and so basically started over from scratch and rewrote the track. In the end, we both agree it's a much more fitting track and the video as a whole is definitely better with it. But that's still a lot of time and effort that was tossed in the bin.

But thankfully, we've managed to work through it all. My mum is all but entirely healed from her surgery now and is out and about more than she has been in years, and the aforementioned family obligations managed to ease up and give some much-needed breathing room.

The video itself only took me 3 weeks to put together, but finally, after 3 months, it's ready to be shared with you all. I hope you all enjoy it. I personally love it. While it's not the most ambitious project of mine, nor the most creatively original, I definitely think it's the cutest.
