Fun tidbit: Each of the Five Masters performs the actual style of kung fu for their animal species. Tigress performs Black Tiger Fist, Mantis performs Northern Praying Mantis, Viper performs Snake Kung Fu, Monkey does Monkey Kung Fu, and Crane does Fujian White Crane. Like with "Avatar", they did extensive research on the physical motions so they could replicate them in the animation.

I LOVE Kung Fu Panda! it's the perfect balance of Comedy and Drama. This was originally going to be a spoof of the Kung Fu genre, but one of the directors, John Stevenson, wanted to have a blend of comedy and action to make this movie more epic, "I wasn't interested in making fun of martial arts movies, because I really think they can be great films. They can be as good as any genre movie when they're done properly." Dustin Hoffman had a clause in his contract which allowed him to do additional voice recording sessions without hindrance, should he be unsatisfied with his performance. Beyond the contract, Hoffman also tutored Jack Black on his performance in the nighttime stairway argument scene. James Hong is awesome in Big Trouble in Little China. Definitely one to check out!

Ah this is was a joy to share with you. You were having so much fun, which you deserve with how much we set you up for some tears. This is an immensely well-done and fun film that sets up a great franchise. Personally I think 2 falls a bit short of this one and 3 is STELLAR with an incredibly strong score. Fun tidbit: skadoosh was an ad-lib and the butt clench was a nod to Nacho Libre. Thanks again for the ride and the reminder. I'll take the opportunity once more: check out Maya and the Three, even if it's on your own time. Same kind of infectious goofy joy, throughout with some real heartstrings pulled there too.

Big Trouble in Little China is I'd say THE quintessential Kurt Russel movie and I know that's a bold statement. When I made my family watch it for the first time, my wife looked at me and said "Oh so that's why you're like this."
