I agree after the Fire Nation was redeemed in ATLA, I don't love the fact that firebenders still seem to be the ones behind most crimes in Republic City in this season. There's really no need for that, especially if the point is to question all bending in general.

You talked about wondering if Linn and the police using those metal cords are benders or not, and we can clear that up. They are controlling those cords with metal bending, which is a sub-disciple of earth bending, so they are earth benders.
