I think you will really enjoy this It bounces between kids cartoon and emotional destruction The lore and the story are both really interesting as well and it goes in strange fun directions Uncle Iroh is best

I screamed in the comments for the Episode One video, but now that I've actually WATCHED them I'll make a real comment. This show didn't come out until I was already An Adult, so it doesn't have the childhood nostalgia for me, but nonetheless I mean it when I say that it is legitimately one of the greatest TV shows of all time. Obviously I can't go into too much detail over why we love it, since that would defeat the purpose of watching you watch it, but what I will say is that it THINKS and it FEELS and every time you say to yourself "nah, they wouldn't do THAT..." they totally do 'that'. This series is where Dave Filoni made his bones, and the strength here is part of what got him the leadership role on "Star Wars: The Clone Wars". Everything you loved about TCW has its seeds in this series. Bear in mind that it IS a "kid show". A lot of people say "it's not a kid's show" as a shorthand for "Despite being a cartoon and not featuring any swearing or sex it's still well-done so it's not 'kiddy'", but the intended audience was always children. Adults were never the primary demographic, so the fact that it appeals to us is a bonus, not the original intention.

Let me think. My first time watching this show. Well, I did see the REDACTED in theatres a million years ago, but as I recall, if you hadn't seen the show, and knew the lore, it was a confusing, speedrun, mess. And if you had seen the show it was a TRAVESTY most foul. I sort of remember trying to watch the show years ago, probably after the confusing mess I saw in the theatre, but it was too much of a kids cartoon for me so I probably only watched 2/3 episodes. So in a way, I suppose my first time really watching this show is because this internet lady (who shall remain nameless) twisted my arm and made me watch it. Also because I accidentally watched the most recent BSG episode and it was "to be continued" so now I have to watch something to get it out of my head.

I just saw that you were watching these. I love this series. That "movie" never happened. This show has spectacular character development over the seasons. Sokka is rough in the beginning but he grows on ya.
