Lychee

This might just be my favorite episode of the show.

Jonathan Flick

Whoa, hey. Flesh. We saw the real Mal in the last episode but this episode we got to see, um, more Mal.

Dax

You just know that if the show hadn't been cancelled that Christina Hendricks would have been a recurring guest star that showed up from time to time.

Robert Inman

Monty's brown coat was more wore out than Mal's.

Robert Inman

I wonder where Mal developed his ability to see YoSafBridge as a person, while still staying (mostly) clear headed on her dangerous proclivities - or did he intentionally set it up for her to take his gun? Huh.

Andrew Howard

What a fun episode. I really like how this episode like War Stories had a lot of fun bringing back an old face, and I especially like how consistent all of the characters feel in this scenario. Nobody trusts Yo-Saf-Bridge, everyone tugs her back on course the moment they see her a foot out of place, and Mal in particular never humors her flirtations or appeals for sympathy for a moment (at least, not until the job is 'done' and Mal already knows he has a backup in place) On top of that I really think this episode puts a great bow on the Simon/River/Jayne dynamic that was set up in Ariel. Simon was my favorite character when I first watched this (he might still be, but the more I re-watch it, the harder it gets to pick any favorite). His mix of kinda naive wholesomeness is a nice break from a lot of the rest of the crew. (Undercut from time to time when he's unintentionally rude to Kaylee though) Simon's reaction though to betrayal felt like a nice payoff for his character, and it's a reminder that however much he might flounder in some situations, he's still the kind of person who would throw his life away for a shot at saving someone he cares about.

Oh, I definitely think it was a ruse for her to take the gun. He’s not really somebody that falls for that crap.

Rune

One of my favourite things about this episode is that; you can actually see YoSafBridge take Mals gun. As soon as he sits down next to her, you can see it sliding from his holster. But It is not something I noticed until the 3rd of 4th time I watched the episode and I have only seen one reactor comment on it on their first watch.

Terry Yelmene

This 'petty' theft was impressive. YoSafBridge was too! But nothing... Nothing in the verse, is more significant than River. Yet another brilliantly impressive 'browncoat' reaction.

Ian from wine country

Yeah, you can see her hand hit the butt of the gun as he sits and then watch her shoulders to see her pass it behind her back.

John Walters

If you plan to add to your collection of Firefly memorabilia, Angela, you'll be disappointed to learn that Funko Pops are currently only available for Mal, Wash, Zoe, Kaylee and Jayne. Jayne's Funko Pop shows him wearing some sort of strange-looking hat, for some reason.

James Hadden

@funnylilgalreacts I’m all for honesty, but somehow this reply feels a bit mean

James Hadden

Nothing major, it’s just nice showing someone your favourite thing, but less so when they turn around and say they don’t like it. I will admit I’m in a bad mood, tired, and clearly feeling overly sensitive.

funnylilgalreacts

I didn’t say I didn’t like it. I said it was my least favorite. As we know what this shows “least favorite” means very little. Without somebody offering an explanation as to why it’s their favorite that’s really the only response I could come up with other than not saying anything at all.

funnylilgalreacts

I totally saw her shifting around in the seat and knew that that’s what she was doing. But I also think it was done on purpose by Mal. He needed her to go to the trash bin.

Lychee

All good, everyone has different tastes. I generally prefer the episodes taking place on the central planets. Some of the episodes on the colonies to me often feel like the show runner just ran out of cash. I also really enjoy Christina Hendricks performance.

funnylilgalreacts

Actually, that was the part that I like the most about it is that it took place somewhere else. I agree when things take place in the outer planets it’s not really my favorite, but I’m a space girl, so I love space stuff.

Sural Argonus

The viewer should have known SOMETHING was up...because of Zoë's inability to keep a straight face talking to Inara...I mean she nailed "Shit Eating Grin" right there. hahah
