It's exaggerated of course but I believe one really good player can make a dramatic difference for a team in this sport.

So I was unable to watch this season when it was airing, this is the first time I am watching it. I agree, they did jump the shark, but it lands differently when they do it on purpose. Much like you, I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. Still watching episode 3 while I type this.

Big news in the FLG League today as it appears the Wavy Hair Football Club has been relegated and the Straightened Hair FC has been promoted back into the league. It's been a while since we've seen SHFC appear in an FLG Reaction match, but I think we can all agree that the club is looking good and ready to play. 😄 ---- Zava is ridiculously over the top in this episode, and I'm definitely with Jamie in not liking him. Just waiting for the show to turn Zava into something more than just a punchline because you know they will. Semi-related side note: I started watching Welcome to Wrexham today because you had mentioned it during one of your Ted Lasso reactions a while back. Never would have known about it otherwise, and I'm really enjoying it so far.

I don't think "jumping the shark" is the right term. They signed a generational player, so in addition to Dani and Jamie, all of a sudden Richmond is a pretty good team so far at the beginning of the season. Jumping the shark would be Richmond holding fan tryouts, and then one of their fans joins the team and becomes the best player in the world.

I just think the introduction of this super star athlete and all these "god like" shot of him playing was bit much. Maybe not jump the shark, but really off kilter.

Straight hair don't care 💁‍♀️ I love that they really focus on the town and the people in it. They very well could have made a "look at me look at me" docuseries and instead it was "look at this place and these people"

Been binge watching the rest of the show today since I'm off from work, and just finished the final episode. All the stories of the people in the town are definitely what made it fun, interesting, and sometimes devastating to watch. The best episodes are the ones just about the town and the team. After Googling a bit to see what happened a year later (AKA now) I found out Wrexham will be playing a game in mid-July at UNC Chapel Hill which is about 30-40 minutes from where I live. Of course the tickets are all sold out already but still cool to find out.
